En route to DHL eCommerce distribution center or awaiting processingMelrose Park, IL. 19 days ago!

How long does it normally take for the transfer from EIS Glendale Heights, IL to DHL eCommerce in Melrose Park, IL? The tracking showing label created July 11th and then the following tracking status that it was enroute or awaiting processing on the same date. Today is July 30th and nothing has changed. Is the item lost or will it miraculously find its way to final destination in Vancouver eventually? Delivery date of the order was originally August 6th when shipped from Pennsylvania on July 8th. I do want the item but guess I can claim a refund after the promised delivery date.

Keep in mind that scans only tell us the last place an item was known to be, not where it is now.  I doubt your item is lost.  However, there seems to be a lot of things that can trip up a shipment handled by the eBay International Shipping program if the seller hasn't prepared the item properly or if hazmat (particularly lithium-ion batteries) is involved.  Unfortunately, if your item has dead-ended because it's unforwardable, there isn't always a scan that reflects this situation.  Having said that, there are items that do seem to spend a lot of time hanging around the eIS hub or the DHL eCommerce centre or with Asendia before they start moving.  My guess is that the carrier is waiting for enough packages to accumulate to make a consolidated shipment as economical as possible.

I came to the conclusion a long time ago that watching tracking information was a mug's game. It didn't make the item move any faster or ensure that it arrived damage-free. It gave me the illusion that I had some control over the shipment which I don't have.  So I've stopped checking the tracking for my orders and made note of the last estimated delivery date instead (as you've done) and just gone about my business until then. What happens or doesn't happen to the shipment in the time between my purchase date and the last estimated delivery date is largely immaterial.

To answer your question: There really isn't a "normally" when it comes to eIS-forwarded shipments.

I recently had a package scanned and processed in Melrose Park then it stated in route to next destination. This happened 5 or 6 times before I noticed it was enroute to my destination. The tracking routes sometimes make no sense. I have never had a package not arrive.

Delivery date of the order was originally August 6th when shipped

And today is July 31.

The shipment could be in transit for another six days.

Mark that date on your calendar.

Do NOT watch shipping.

If something is needed by a deadline, do not buy it online.
