So I'm a small seller on eBay and I still need to wait for my money to be held before delivery confirmation. I recently sold an item on eBay, and the Canada Post tracking says it was delivered, however eBay's "track this item" option says it's still "processing." As a result, I have to wait until Oct. 6th to get my money even though the item is delivered.
Can I do anything about this? I messaged the buyer asking them to leave me feedback confirming delivery but they didn't respond.
You should have your money by Tuesday.
But yes, tracking is not well synched between shippers and eBay.
And it can go either way.
EBay shows "out for delivery", shipper shows "delivered".
Shipper shows shipment is in Kentucky (or worse, Chicago), buyer has left feedback mentioning prompt delivery.
Basically, I put it down to human beings.
The mailstream (and all couriers) have been so overwhelmed with the pandemic crisis that they have been concentrating on moving the mail rather than on keeping the paperwork straightened out.
Not only have workers stayed home in fear or to care for dependents, but many have been sick with what seems to be a long recovery period. ON top of that, there has been a huge surge in online shopping as people were unable to buy necessities or entertainment (hobby equipment as well as CDs and DVDs).
EBay just announced that their COVID policy of giving a little more leeway on delivery will end soon. But the Christmas surge will begin at the end of the month, and I suspect that it will be larger than usual as families ship gifts rather than distributing in person during the second ways Chief Medical Officers are predicting.
Easiest: You wait 3 days for October 6 to arrive.
