If Country of Origin Is Omitted From Listing Does USA Still See The Item?

Good day,

I'm seeing different responses to the question above, so I'm uncertain about which one is accurate.

I have a few items that are manufactured in India, the high tariffs of 50% is detering me from shipping them to the United States. I would like to confirm before I list.

The 50% tariff USA applied on goods made in India that went into effect latter August  includes clothing so I suspect if the country of origin is NOT stated on the applicable customs forms, the package would be opened for inspection and/or rejected at the border....so while it may be important for persons viewing items online to pre-see country of origin...it is also most important that the item be properly and accurately described on the paperwork for exporting from Canada.

Thanks for the response, but I my question is, will buyers in the US see the listing if the Country of Origin is not added in the listing. I thought I saw somewhere that they will not but I'm not sure. My hope is that they will not see it therefore unable to purchase it. Thanks!

Sorry, I could not find eBay's specific statement pertaining to that...Initially eBay stated that it was "strongly recommended that sellers add the Country/Region of Manufacture (country of origin) to their listing" ...but that was more for the benefit of the customs paperwork..
