Buyers, don't play coy. SELLERS are upping shipping and reducing costs to thwart DUTIES

People expressing shock at this make me laugh.  If you see an item that should cost $500 and it says, "$200 for the item and $300 for shipping" don't pretend to be "shocked" that the shipping is too much.   You KNOW you are seeing a HUGE cut on on the price and that the costs have been transferred to the shipping.  So lets not play the innocent and pretend you are being "overcharged."

Shipping costs are subject to eBay fees so any seller who applies this tactic is still subject to the applicable fees and unless their domestic shipping costs are so very low, it really is a poor tactic..now having said that, are you referring to Canadian sellers or USA sellers? THAT DOES make a difference in that IF your reference is to USA sellers...it most likely means they don't want to do business with Canadian buyers unless the buyer does so on the seller's selling & shipping terms...and IF the TOTAL cost of that item(item price plus shipping) is an outrageous price, then any wise buyer would pass .... It is the TOTAL price that matters!
