First time selling on eBay. I listed an item and eBay automatically input the specification in the title when I made the listing. But then I listed the correct specification in the description.
I was trying to reach the buyer to confirm they have read that, I am not trying to trick them. But eBay notified me saying "user not found" whenever I try to message them. But their account is still up with listings. Anyone with similar inssues in the past?

Did you message "buyer" through the eBay messaging system?

Is the item you are messaging about the iPhone 8 with cracked screen? Have you checked order details for a phone number? (The info is clickable on left side from tab). If you are a newer seller there are situations where it's a buyer with no intention of paying or just testing the waters. Sadly this could be the case here. Possibly. Also, it is VERY common to find eBay users that have eBay mail turned off intentionally or without realizing so this can make it challenging to communicate. I personally run across this constantly.

When you make a listing, regardless of what eBay auto fills for you with the title and specifics, you can change it. It's your responsibility to make sure the information is correct. For something with a defect, it's VERY important to make sure there's something in the title to alert the buyer. Many buyers never read the description (I suspect many browsing on a mobile device don't even know there is one).
Is your buyer from Canada or from another country? If they're from another country and they claim the item isn't as described, it can be very difficult to facilitate a return.

Just did a search and I also vaguely remember it being an option some time in the past but according to a US discussion post eBay disabled the option for disabling auto-suggest approx. 2018. Basically eBay's attempt of telling buyers and sellers what they want even if it is something different. According to that discussion the only work around then was to use a stand alone ad blocker or some programming in personal settings.
It's always been a major nuisance when trying to search even in the forums. Work around here when you are typing is to go to bottom of suggestions and turn off auto suggest. Then hope it sticks. No guarantees.

Hello Mr Dutch. So I just got the similar message in regards to an international order to Spain. Me and the buyer have kept in touch the entire time and all communication has been positive, so I thought maybe there was a block, or something happened with the buyers account but that is not the case. I was recieving the same message 'user name doesn't exist' on my desktop sending messages from ebay.ca website, so i went to my phone eBay app as it is all ebay.com and sent a message and it sent it with no problem and no error. It was strange as I was able to message him from my desktop on ebay.ca over the last few weeks with no issues but not today. Hopefully this helps as a work around for now and in the future. All the best with your sales
