CD and DVD sellers - a couple of questions

CD and DVD sellers - a couple of questions.

1)  How have your sales been since September?  Have you had any US sales?  Mine have really dropped off

2) Do you use promoted listings, if so at what rate?  I was using 5.5% and have since removed promoted listings.

For me in September I sold 27 CD's (18 were to Canada and 9 went to the US) of those 27, 18 were sold with promoted listings and 9 were not.

In October, so far have only sold 10 CD's, 4 to the US and 6 to Canada and 5 of those were promoted.

I took all the promoted listings off and relisted a bunch of CD's and then put them on sale for 15% off just to see it that might make a difference.  I am thinking I have to put the promoted listing back on and not have as many % sales.

What do you think?

I have much fewer listings than you do, but I haven't had any sales to the USA since that blue banner started appearing on all my listings (well, aside from one trading card sale that went through Authentication in Canada and was then forwarded to the buyer in the USA, but I wouldn't count that) - I'm not in eIS yet. Still selling a couple movies a week to Canadians since Canada Post started working again a few weeks ago.

Since the beginning of September about 47% of my sales have been via Promoted listings - most of those sales being media items. I promote at a base 2% and increase 1% every 90 days; most of the promoted items I sold were promoted in the 2-5% range.

I plan to turn off my promotions in January when the new attributed model is implemented. I will then assess sales trends and adjust as necessary.

Definitely report back with any findings you have with your experiment!
