Hello,
I had a sale that I purchased a shipping label via eBay for Canada Post, due to a significant delay in delivery I requested a refund though their claim process and was successful.
The Canada Post email said that the refund will be "Credit to Account", I'm assuming that means it'll go to eBay, should I expect to see that show up somewhere automatically, or is it gone to the void? I tried to ask customer service but they had no answer for me. Thanks for the help

Not an ebay label, but it took 30 days for me to receive the refund credit with Shippo for a CP refund for their service failure. I'm not sure if that time was because of Shippo's process or Canada Post.

early on when I started using ebay shipping labels I made a mistake and needed to complete a new label (ie. pay for the same product twice). I never received money or credit back on the refund request for the unused label, its been over a year. sad to say but I'd wave bye bye to your money on that one. For this reason I am ultra careful and double check everything before clicking that button.

Although it's been a few years now, but the last request I had for a refund on a Canada Post shipping label was never granted, never got a refund...Many years ago there was nary a problem with refunds from Canada Post labels, always got'em within 2-3 weeks, but that was then ...this is now...

Whenever I've received a refund from Canada Post, it has always been mailed to me via cheque. Those are for eBay Labels claims I made directly through Canada Post though. If you made the claim through someone else, it may work differently.

Yes back years ago, the Canada Post shipping label refunds came via cheque....

I just filed a claim for a late shipment as well for the first time in a long while (the last time I did it they just mailed me a cheque, but this was years ago).
The email I received also indicated that my refund method is "CREDIT TO ACCOUNT". This particular label was actually purchased through NetParcel so I'll be interested to see how it's handled... I paid for it through my PayPal account so I'm assuming the credit will go to NetParcel and they'll refund me to my PayPal account? Guess I'll just have to keep an eye on it and open a ticket with NetParcel if I don't see the money back in any form within the next couple weeks.
@mburden319 definitely keep us updated if you see any updates in your financial summary for the shipping label refund. eBay was the purchaser, so they're the ones who are going to get the money back for the shipping label, but I would imagine they would be able to credit your account for it (hopefully, anyway).
I also see the refund for a late shipment doesn't include taxes or fuel surcharges that I paid, but I guess I'm not too surprised to see that.

It may include them. I'm pretty sure eBay upcharges a little on the labels. When a claim is made directly with Canada Post, I think they only reimburse the amount they were paid for the label, not what eBay upcharges on it.

I didn't buy the label through eBay, I got it through NetParcel, and NetParcel breaks down the label fees/taxes properly. The amount Canada Post says I'm being refunded matches exactly with just the label cost (before fuel surcharge/tax).

Just an update on this from my side:
I waited several weeks but never saw any credit to my NetParcel/PayPal account for the late shipment. I then reached out to NetParcel support and they issued me a full refund for the label in a matter of hours. No follow-ups required.
They also reimbursed me for the full amount I paid for the label ($12.21) vs. the amount that the Canada Post claim email said i would be credited ($9.72). Unclear if this is how it's supposed to work or they just gave me a courtesy refund for the whole amount or what.
But in any case, I did end up getting my money back although it wasn't automatic and required a bit of ticket opening and follow-up.
@mburden319 - is there any follow-up regarding your credit on an eBay Label?

This was a few years ago but I also had an issue with a shipment sent by Canada Post purchased with eBay labels and I received the Canada Post we will be "Crediting your Account" message as well. Since I had purchased with eBay labels, and was told it would be a credit to what ever payment method I used (eBay managed payments?!) I was confused how it would work since the payment was technically made by eBay first then charged to my payouts.
I tried to get confirmation on how this would work, would they credit eBay and eBay would in turn credit me? No one seemed to be able to give me a direct answer. Canada Post customer service kept saying the method that paid would be credited (eBay) and eBay customer service said Canada Post would be crediting me...to where I would ask. I eventually got frustrated and just assumed it would be a write off, another business expense but then lo and behold, a couple of weeks later, when I had almost forgotten about it, I got a cheque in the mail from Canada Post. The amount was even slightly higher than I had paid so I don't know what happened exactly but it was a pleasant, unexpected surprise. Never say never, it could happen.
