Listing information disappearing

I'm one of those sellers who likes to list every detail of an item for my customers so they can make a more informed purchase.

But for the past number of years, doing such a task is slowly being undone by eBay seemingly making my information disappear. It'slike I never typed anything at all.

Is there a way around this or should I give up and only enter the bare minnimum?

You need to be more specific for us to be able to help you. When you make a listing that's affected, what are you seeing vs what you expect to see? Specific examples would help. Is this happening on listings that displayed correctly in eBay when posted but aren't now, or is it on new listings?

All the blank boxes eBay encourages you to fill in when you list an item for sale. 

For example, if it were a DVD movie it would be things like actors, director, producer, region code, etc.

I fill these out for the customers fully. There comes a point these details disappear. I'll go to update a listing any anything that I typed will vanish, leaving me with nothing. 

It's happened before.  The only pattern I can see this time is any listings from 2021 and before are affected. 2022 and newer appear to be safe.

@needsmorerobots  Ah, okay. Yeah, I've had that happen before. I think eBay updated some of the details a while ago to make it consistent across regions. I assume the issues are probably related to that. It only seemed to affect some listings. I don't think there's anything you can do about it other than to put them in again.

Information disappearing as you're creating the listing can also happen. I think that's a different problem.

Details being overwritten by information in eBay's product catalog is also an issue.

The Item Specifics have changed from time to time.

They also change from dotCOM to dotCA, and even within  a category. 

I put most of the information I consider important in the Description, as well as the Item Specifics. 

Both of these, along with the Title, are Searchable on eBay.

It's great that you care enough to enter item specifics. Two things could be going on. Since I came to understand how the different Item specific windows accept data I haven't had a problem. That said I use templates for all my listings and before I start I make sure I have adjusted the category to suit the widget. 

The items category can't be changed after entering item specifics or else the data boxes will change.  The new category usually has different items specifics causing the old entries to dissapear.  If you come along 6 months later and revise a listing by changing it's category this will happen.

Another situation is some item specifics will automagically poplulate while other expect you to save a "custom specific" that isn't in the memory bank.  In this case if you make an entry but don't look below it to confirm with the "+" marker that appears eBay will ignore the entry. If the data appears automatically then confirmation is complete by hitting return. 

It can be annoying so I'm in the habit of watching the previous entry when I move to the next to be sure the data sticks.
