Since Aug 29, have you sold anything?  I was on time away for a few days but back on now for a couple of days and nothing, no Canadian or US sales.

How about you?

I recently made a sale to the US of an item shipped by FedEx. The buyer knows they will have to pay the tariffs to FedEx upon delivery, and have agreed. I also have eBay's written assurance that if FedEx pulls a fast one and tries to bill me personally for the tariffs, I will have eBay's support.

I would take the so-called "assurance" from eBay with a mountain of salt. There are several examples in the forum about sellers who have gotten charges from FedEx and UPS, when their buyers in the US refused delivery of the orders due to tariffs.

In response to my previous comment, I have yet to get any sales on eBay since August, but just had a sale on my other selling site(a within Canada sale as I no longer ship to the USA)...this is the first sale on my other selling site since mid-July...This Canadian shipment will be shipped via Purolator(through netParcel via PayPal as not dealing with Canada Post until they are fully functional...)

Likewise, I had my first sale since the dreaded 8/29 last week. It was on eBay, and it went to a buyer in France.

I used Chit-Chats for shipping, and so far, so good. The tracking shows that the parcel is already in Europe (PostNL is Chit-Chats partner for International shipping) and hopefully it will be delivered soon.

Addendum:

Although I can't ship to the US using Canada Post until eBay updates its shipping and mailing label system to account for tariffs, I shipped my first (heavy) item to the US using UPS, which bills the buyer directly for tariffs

The buyer wanted the item, even with tariffs. They were kind enough to share their tariff bill with me: About $25.00 USD, on a sale of about $150 CDN. The interesting thing was the itemized tariff bill said little about tariffs: it was mostly the UPS brokerage fee, and something called a "US Government Disbursement Fee, whatever that means.

A reminder that  you can buy Canada Post labels on the Canada Post /SnapShip site, and use your Solutions for Small Business account for a small discount.

It's not as good a discount as eBay in many cases and the system is clunky, but it can be done.

@sffan2001 Could you break down the $25 further?
How much was the (flat?) UPS fee?

It might help work out what percentage you were charged as the Trump Tariff.

3 USA sales for me in 52 days. Thats pretty close to zero. Thats bad. I didn't even think it was that much. I really don't care. Too bad, eBay provides a lot of eye-balls.

Still waiting for Canada Post to show up for USA shipping? I have been making regular USA sales from my Shopify site and I ship using DYKPost. If you don't know, they deliver to border and USPS delivers. You need to use Shippo to buy USPS shipping labels. Works great. I wish I could get some referral fee because it is a great service.  Same for Shopify.

sorry, but no matter how many "referrals" sellers throw around, NONE will ever convince me to resume shipping to the USA....

It has been a chore since the <insert you know who here> induced chaos. Just be thankful you are not a Columbian trying to import some of your goods by boat/submarine.

Sorry only just saw your message.

I am turning them off because as I said the cost benefit isn't there and without the extra 5% fee, I can reduce my prices by 5% as I clear out my inventory.

I have already made my decision to close up shop due to Canada Post, USA Tarrifs, and my main supplier banning eBay sales (all online marketplaces) on all new inventory purchases... So I'm working through and reducing prices to my cost and if I can reduce my cost by another 5% then that increases the chance of a sale in my mind.
