So how is someone supposed to enter HTS and CoO codes when using the CP online customs form?

And where does one even look up the codes?  Every Tom, Dick and Harry sending something to the US has to enter these codes that they have never even heard of.

Looking up codes and COO is a piece of cake, just Google the item information and Google's AI will provide correct answers.

You should be VERY careful with that. I've found the results are wrong more often than they're right.

I always verify.  It is often fine but often enough it is not.  I have a pretty good list now as well.

Rather than Google, try putting it into ChatGPT and be VERY specific. Try something like:

"What is the HTS code for a {whatever} made in {country} shipping from Canada to USA according to the usitc.gov website?"

i always do verify and am specific when i ask google AI.  I'm aware that its answers are variable depending on how the question is phrased.  But it does usually point you in the right direction making it a piece of cake to verify in a few seconds
