I have checked their international shipping rates a few months ago and I have a copy of their shipping rates in my rate table which I use to generate shipping profiles for ebay.
I have matrix table consisting of weight ranges and size ranges, so I know exactly where Stallion changed rates.
The rates for packages up to 3 Kilogram increased 35-40% in the last few months.
Post NL is very competitive and I can't imaginne they would increase the rates that much.
All the rates above 3 kiligrams did not change. Even 20 kilogram large box is the SAME shipping rates it was unchanged for a couple of months now.
So how comes small packages, the bread and butter for Canadian sellers increase by 35-40% ?
My guess is, Stallion doesn't make money in US so they are trying to recover revenue from international sales.
While the rates are still cheaper than Canada Post charges, this makes less likely anything over 2lbs will ship to overseas.
That's a shame.
I do not think this is Post NL increasing their rates so dramatically. It would make no sense, for Post NL, what counts is the weight (and size) because that makes direct impact on fuel cost.
So if 20 kg any size package is same cost for Post NL, why would 10 small packages of 3 kilogram need a 40% increase in rates.
Makes totally no sense. Stallion is just decided to charge more. NOW! Exactly NOW! This sucks the same way as Canada Post employees suck trying to strike during the worst ecommerce nighmare in last 30 years.
