There are product safety concerns with the item you purchased

Just received this message from ebay as a buyer for the first time. It was for an electric device I purchased long time ago. It says that the product was recalled, and I should stop using it immediately. It's also noting that the sales of the same item will be stopped in the (unknown) future. Since I've sold some electrics before, I wonder what would happen to sellers in this situation? Will there be chargeback? Anyone here ever experienced something similar? Thanks in advance.

I would certainly not sell the product on eBay in future. Not worth it.

Do you have a stock of them ? Another site like FBMarketplace might be less safety-concious.

If your customer complains, send tell them to return it for refund. Don't argue the point.

If nothing else, any loss is tax deductible.

Because eBay is "sometimes" wrong, especially when AI gets involved as it often does nowadays, you should also check online to see what the recall was and when.

You may be able to return any existing stock for a refund of  your own.

Aaaand I just noticed you are the buyer.

Check Google/internet before continuing to use the product.

You may not have time left in the Money Back Guarantee for a refund from the seller, since the MBG only lasts 30 days from delivery.
