Where does Zonos provide the $ Quote of any Duty/Tarrif?

Where do we find how and what to charge for postage + DDP on the desktop browser version of Zonos?

If I put in an item it 7/10 times gives me an incorrect HS Code and then only gives the code & breakdown without showing any charges, if owing.

If I put in the correct HS code it simply offers the HS code breakdown without any mention of charges/no charges?

What are peolple doing to find out how much to charge over their regular postage costs?

Zonos app is working for me. Can use the web version at app.zonosprepay.com.

Just create a mock shipment. Press "Ship" at the bottom, select "Is a standard package", hit "Continue", either take a photo or add items manually, edit information if necessary, click the checkbox saying you confirm the info is correct, and press "Calculate duties". It will show you the total amount owing including any processing fee.

This does not let me sign in using my Zonos account email and password. Why would it be different than my Zonos account linked to my Canada Post account? My Zonos account only shows the Item quoter.

When using the Duties and Taxes Calculator provided as a solution it doesn't include Canada Post as an option. Does Canada Post need to be alerted to this attempt to direct traffic away from it's services?

Also, Canada Post has a built in duty calculator that may actually work better for both finding HS Codes and calulating duties owing. This whole Zonos thing comes across as a scam.

The Zonos account associated with your Dashboard (the one you linked to Canada Post directly) is different than the Zonos Prepay app account.

Why? Who knows. But you just need to download the app (or access it via web), and then make an account for Zonos Prepay if you want to get quotes using their database.

Okay so you don't have to use the Zonos Prepay system you can simply utilize it to generate a quote and then utilize the CPC/Zonos integrated method through SnapShip?

Sorry, I'm really having difficulty as there doesn't seem to be a clear and concise guide that take a seller through the system step by step.

There are two ways to use Zonos with Canada Post.

There is the "Automatic Billing/Verified Account" way - this is where you make a Zonos account (with the dashboard) and link the Zonos Account Key to your Canada Post account. Then, every time you create a shipment with SnapShip Zonos automatically does all the back-end duty calculations and bills your Zonos account directly for any amount owed once the item crosses the border. The pro of this method is that you pay a reduced processing fee of $1.99. The con is that you don't get any indication of how much you're going to be billed later by Zonos (at least that functionality doesn't seem to exist yet).

The other way is to use the Zonos Prepay app. You download the app (or access the web version), make an account, and then create a shipment in the app using the "Ship" button on the bottom row. Once you provide a photo or manually enter the contents of the package it will show you how much duty you need to pay to send the package. You then pay directly on the app, and it gives you a unique 13-character Declaration ID that you can then use on SnapShip or when buying your postage directly at the post office. The pro of this method is that you know how much you're paying up front. The con is that you pay a higher processing fee of $2.99 ($3.99 if you don't include a photo of your item when creating the shipment).

I just tried the Zonos integration with Canada Post. Linked Zonos Account key to my Canada Post account.

Bought the label on Canada Post with my business account.  Just been to the post office after creating a first package to be sent to the USA.  They verified the label, scanned it, everything seems fine. They told me I will be charged in my Zonos account if there's any tariffs/duties to be paid.

I guess, this is the simplest way (for me). By using UPS United States as a Calculated Shipping on eBay, I have some room there to pay for fees / duties just in case. It kills almost all my sales to the USA, but I have one, from time to time.

Since this is a music CD from Canada, I think there will be no tariffs. I will see. I will also check for that 1.99$ fee when the item cross the border.

I don't like this "you will be billed later" bit. Money matters a lot in my business and I need to know all costs up front, not get a big bill for a bunch of unknowns later down the line.

While it's not idea to pay the extra dollar per shipment and it will add up, there will be no surprises later on.

Another thing that I'm not happy about is the lack of integration with eBay labels and that $7-8 charge with tracked packet USA shipping. I know there's a discount with snapship, but it's not nearly as good.

I've been getting my packages across the border with Stallion for $6-8 each package (pending on zipcode), and they are assessing 1.49 per shipment for brokerage (with fees charged immediately, no surprises). Seems the best of both worlds, a low brokerage fee and the information presented up front. They even have a calculator you can use to determine tariffs before listing something on eBay (to see what that item might cost in tariffs before you even try to sell it to the US).

I have been using the automated billing/verified account method as I don't wish to make daily trips to the post office. He can take the packages from the mailbox when he delivers daily. No shipments are yet listed in my Zonos page under invoices, shipping etc. despite having mailed some and they have already cleared customs and crossed the border.

I have no idea when the payments if any will be charged.

Were they items that *should* have duties owing on them?

No I don't think there were any owing but I am not a border customs agent. The HS codes and COO were correct. 4903.00 and an original manufactuer in the UK.

I do think there should be something via Zonaos to prove that they existed, were examined, and cleared customs. There was not a charge for the automatic system.

I just have the tracking info the same as before the tariff stuff started. It's like the last three weeks didn't change much for me. Perhaps I should have stayed open?
