Hi there, I'm kind of freaking out here, what happened with the seller discount rates for Canada Post?? It was bad enough we were not able to access the shipping labels since Monday, and it's back now but the rates are set to the regular Canada Post rates and NOT the seller discounted ones we're supposed to have, and I've got over 10 items I've been waiting to make labels for but now if I go through with that as is, I'm going to lose all the profits I made on the items and THEN some! That is extremely unfair, and eBay needs to fix this ASAP!

There still seems to be a glitch with eBay Labels.
When I clicked "Get Shipping Label" it initially showed me the proper discounted rate, but then when I updated the dimensions the discounted rate would go away (would go from $7.19 to $17.99). I kept backing out of the screen and going back in, and eventually I got it to correctly show me the $7.19 rate and I paid for it and it printed fine. Not sure what the glitch is, but try refreshing or going in and out of the shipping label screen a bunch of times.

There is definately still a glitch in the system.

Those were promotional rates and they might have come tothe end of the contract or there may be a glitch.
There are still discounts for Solutions for Small Business account holders who skipped eBay during the screwup and went right to SnapShip.
They may not be as generous but they exist.
You can print your labels from there and drop them off at the nearest open postal outlet Saturday or Sunday .

This may be the answer:
To anyone not seeing the correct rates in eBay Lab... - The eBay Canada Community
Otherwise, some info from devon@ebay would be appreciated.

The heavily discounted rates for Expedited Lite and Tracked Packet were supposed to be permanent (they have their own dedicated pages on eBay) so there's no reason those would be removed, at least not with proper forewarning from eBay.
There was an additional discount that added a few more percentage points to the Tracked Packet discount (in addition to larger domestic Expedited Parcel discounts being offered directly through Canada Post) that was supposed to end on June 25, but I was still getting the sub-$5 local Expedited Parcel rates today so I have no idea what the status of that is.
So, we should still be seeing the standard eBay negotiated rates for Tracked Packet and Expedited Lite, plus a new discount of "an additional 8% on select Canada Post services" (announced in the most recent July 2025 Seller Update) for all services except for Tracked Packet and Expedited Lite.
It's all very confusing and convoluted, but no one should be seeing drastically different prices than they did before the service outage (unless you were regularly using the $3.50 local Expedited promotional rate for anything under 500g). Any current pricing issues can most likely be attributed to some sort of glitch either on eBay or Canada Post's end.

Everything seems to be back to normal for me, just printed 3 labels.
One thing I am wondering about now is, how many label charges got delayed with this whole fiasco and when will they be rolling through my account. A month or so ago, there was some old labels that just randomly showed up one day, I would prefer to be prepared for when that happens instead of being blindsided. I hope that will not be the case, but I know there is at least 6-10 labels that I have not been charged for yet.

Just printed a US TP / 250g label, with the usual discount.

I have confirmed @dinomitesales previous post is accurate. The work around for the gliche is to try the following;
* use the back button and renter the form. If that doesn't work...
*remove entries such as the weight and/or the dimensions. Then re-enter random different ones. Then back out again and renter accurate ones. This has worked for me.
You may see the proper price appear only to dissapear. If that happens experiment until the right amount shows with the right weight and dimensions. Before you hit "Purchase" don't forget to make sure your other details like your HS code and COO etc are accurate. Last thing you need is the right price but a corrupted label.

Hopefully, any delayed billing processed by eBay is at the rate the time labels were physically created and not at a rate with an increase attached to it, either shipping or fuel. Conversely it would be possible for a shipment to get billed at intermediate price break recently announced.
I currently have 5 labels that haven't been charged that go back to June 27th. 1 has already been delivered. As per another announcement (somewhere) postage was supposed to be billed on more timely manner going forward. I believe as July 2nd.

*******************WARNING*****************
Quick heads up if you go to print a label tonight or tomorrow. I went to create one a few minutes ago and system had defaulted back to the non-discounted rate. 11.00 dollar difference on a tracked package.
I had to clear ebay cookies and re-sign in to eBay to get the discount to show. Hopefully this will not be a recurring problem going forward.

Sold three items over the weekend. Went to ship them this morning and although the buyer selected the discounted shipping service, I can't print the label. It instead defaults to UPS and the shipping costs are twice the amount. I tried all the suggested methods to remedy this and got nothing.
If Ebay can't provide the service, then why doesn't it default to "request a shipping quote" when the buyer buys the item? That would make more sense and save BOTH the buyer and the seller a lot of headache.
I argued back and forth with one of ebay's staff and got nowhere. Now that this is impacting my profits, I'm going to stop using Ebay's discounted shipping service. This is 100% Ebay's fault. I'm not going to annoy my buyers to pay more money for shipping. I ate the losses this time, but I won't do that again.
I put my sales on "vacation" mode for a week while I work on whatever solution I can find. Ebay can lose some of their profits while I find a remedy for their screwup.

This is 100% a Canada Post/eBay glitch. Unsure on which side the glitch is on (I would imagine both are partially responsible). There's another thread here in the forums for this new July 7th glitch that appears to be slightly different than the glitch from last week.

The service still exists. There's just a problem printing the labels at the moment. I would imagine the price integration on the listings itself is completely separate from the eBay Labels shipping platform in terms of website coding, so they're never going to talk to each other perfectly (which is what's causing the discrepancy).

The eBay staff you're talking to are likely overseas customer service representatives reading off of a script. They're not going to be intimately familiar with the nuances of Canadian shipping and it's integration into the Canadian eBay website. At minimum they should at least be logging the issue so that the complaint can eventually trickle down to the correct department and eventually be fixed. I don't think there's any need to give up eBay discounted shipping or go on vacation mode just yet unless you're mailing dozens of pacakges a day and it's really hurting your bottom line. The glitches seem to be isolated to Tracked Packet USA service, and you can always print those labels on other platforms like Shippo or NetParcel (or from Canada Post directly) for a couple dollars more than on eBay Labels.

The sad thing about all this is the issue is being reported to eBay via chat, facebook, tagging and there has been nothing in the way of any actual followup from eBay to directly address it.
Correctly me if I am wrong but usually rate discounts are negotiated and then tied to the account number on record. The only time the rates should change is when a negotiated price increase is agreed upon. (Or when the fuel surcharge fluctuates). Because there is no transparency there is no way to even tell when that is happening.
In days of lore or the olden days using pitney bowes, when the rate changed someone from pitney bowes came in and replaced the doo hickey and instant revised rates. With couriers it was a software update. Either a file update or the salesperson showed up to do the deed. Somehow whatever the rates are between eBay and CP there is some creative math going on, under the hood.

will likely have to cancel a few orders
Don't do that-- the Defects you pile up could put you out of business forever here.
As suggested above both the Canada Post and Shippo sites are showing the service and discounted rates.
Not as generous as the ones eBay negotiated, but they exist.
Do you have a Solutions for Small Business account?
They are FREE with Canada Post and you can sign up and get your discounts immediately.

When I sell a $10 item and I'm being charged an extra $10 for shipping, then I'm just wasting my time.
I put my account on vacation mode for a week. If they don't fix this mess by the end of the week, I'm going to remove the ebay discount shipping service option and select the standard rate option. I have the Canada Post business account, but there's no way to integrate it into ebay. I'll just use it at the post office and use the discount to pay for my gas money.

Shippo offers a good rate. Albeit not as good as the CP discounted rate, but way better than UPS (I won't touch them with a 20 ft pole).

Just checked my late shipment status. I now have 1 due to the fact I wasn't able to ship because of eBay NOT providing the discounted service during this past week and plus. For me, it was only 1. For others maybe substantially more. Is eBay going to address...correct for sellers? Like others unable to take a 10.00 loss on a very low value order.
Disclaimer: As a seller with 1 day handling I can't remember the last time I had a late ding due my only personal situation. Pretty sure it was never.
07-09-2025 09:57 AM
I am the same. Ive had 1 sale since June 30th. I was going from making 3-4 sales a day in almost all of June down to nothing probably because of that ding. Looks like Canada Post services are down again on Ebay. What a disaster.
