Hi,
I am new to eBay (Canada) and have listed some items including an old chandelier that belonged to my parents . When it comes to shipping to the US from Canada, the drop down menu at the time of posting my ad gave me an option to use UPS and there was a price range. Now, a potential US buyer is asking me to confirm the shipping cost but I can't find this US shipping information on my ad.
So, 2 questions:
1- Am i bound by the original shipping price quoted? The items is very bulky (2.7ft x 2.7ft) and I don't want to get caught not being able to ship or having to pay more for shipping
2. Does the buyer pay duty or are there customs forms to fill?
Thanks!
You have some beautiful items for sale. I'd be leary of shipping those items outside of Canada. They are big and breakable and being a long time seller I would never risk shipping a chandelier to the USA. The shipping cost to the USA must be huge, and just the fear of the buyer claiming it was broken or not as described is enough to not sell it on Ebay. What a nightmare the return shipping would be if the buyer complained . I'd try 100% to sell this locally, with pick up. It might take longer but it may avoid a lot of hassle in the end.
