Does Ebay even look at evidence

Currently in appeal.

Ordered an item Dec 7 from a seller who sent me a tracking number through Global Express (have pic) which still says my toy is in customs in China. I waited until Jan 19, final day of ship, to contact seller. They then sent me someone else's tracking number through FedEx (which was sent two weeks after my order!) that was sent to another postal code in my town (have pic). I tracked down the buyer of this tracking code, who confirmed it was her package, where it was sent and the seller who gave it to her. I even contacted Fed Ex who also confirmed this tracking number was not sent to my address. I have an open ticket with their fraud department and awaiting a notice to prove this tracking number was not sent to my address. I asked for a refund and eBay sided with the seller!!!! Saying it was sent to the right address. I have proof from FedEx, the buyer, her seller, and eBay’s own records showing the wrong postal code to prove nothing was received by me, yet they sided with the seller?! Is eBay a fraud? Do they even look at the evidence? How can I appeal to get my money back?

Keep in mind that in addition to the Money Back Guarantee, you are covered by the chargeback policy of the credit card you actually paid with.

When shopping online, ONLY use a credit card, not a debit card or e-transfer, since those are effectively not refundable.

Using Paypal as an anonymizer of your financials can also be helpful, since it gives you a third appeal possibility.

Re: Does Ebay even look at evidence

Let the MBG claim play out though.

If you open a chargeback while it is underway, the eBay claim will automatically close.

The order for claims is eBay/MBG-> Paypal if used-> chargeback.

Re: Does Ebay even look at evidence

"Item not received" cases on eBay are handled automatically. If the seller has tracking that shows delivery to your area, the seller wins. eBay does not get detailed tracking information that shows the street address as eBay is not the shipper or the receiver.

If you have documentation disputing "false tracking", once you lose your "Item not received" case, you may be better off contacting eBay via social media direct message to be given an opportunity to provide your documentation. Be sure you mention "false tracking" explicitly, otherwise eBay may treat it as a standard "item not received"/"missing mail"/"stolen package" situation rather than having it count against the seller.

If you cannot get help from eBay, then the fall back option is to go to your payment method with your documentation.

Re: Does Ebay even look at evidence

To repeat FALSE TRACKING  is the reason for the appeal.
