Made a Boo Boo

I ordered something by mistake by clicking the wrong button. Realizing my error, I canceled the order within one minute. The seller subsequently left me a feedback and the order is in lingo. This was a few days ago and I have heard nothing, except a note from eBay telling me the seller has 3 days to respond.

In the event the seller ignores my request to cancel and ships the item anyway, do I have any recourse? He obviously knows I want to cancel, unless his feedback is generated automatically - it's not the generic eBay auto feedback.

tks.

Re: Made a Boo Boo

Ummm -- the order is in LIMBO.  Limbo is the place between Heaven and Hell  in some Christian theologies where souls are on hold until their ultimate fate is decided.

It would be stupid of the seller to refuse the cancellation and spend money to ship an item they know will be returned for refund.

But there are a lot of stupid and stubborn people in this world.

If the seller ships-- do NOT refuse the shipment.

EBay regards a Refused shipment as Undeliverable and the seller is not required to refund anything.

Instead, open a Claim for Not As Described.

You don't even have to open the box.

The seller will be required to send you Return Shipping and to refund you on receiving the return.

If they do not, you can dispose of the shipment as you wish, and eBay will refund you, then go after the seller for their money.

That seller seems to use a number of standardized FB. We have half a dozen available, in addition to the eBay generated one that is posted 30 days after delivery.

Re: Made a Boo Boo

If the item ships and is as described, I will just keep it and post a + feedback for the seller. I want the item, just not yet. If it is not as described (brand new) I will probably have to do the return thing. Seller has done his own packaging in the past as some buyers have mentioned in feedback. Never done a return before and don't want to do it now.

I would not open a NAD case the way you describe it - seems a little dishonest. Thanks for the other info ...

btw - I have no interest in any theologies, so my 'limbo' is really that dance where y ... D'Oh!

Re: Made a Boo Boo

WOW, you are an ebay seller and telling people to file a dishonest claim??? PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS!! So dishonest and such an easy loophole for dishonest people. I hate when buyers use this excuse, especially when I know my items are exactly as described. Weak advice. Ugh.

Re: Made a Boo Boo

Buyer can refuse your cancellation... he can ship... and you are stuck with it, unless it truely does not match item description. Simple as that. *That is if you have already paid. (If you refuse to pay, then your account gets a stike I belive, and seller again gets ripped off).

Re: Made a Boo Boo

I understand that, thanks. As I stated, if the seller ships, I won't consider myself 'stuck with it' - I want it anyway, but wasn't ready to pay (no dough!) until next month. If it shows up as advertised, I'm OK with that.

It is paid for, btw.

I still haven't heard anything about my request to cancel. I just wonder why a seller would not grant this request when he was made aware of it about 2 minutes after I bought it by mistake ... that desperate for a sale?

Thanks all for your help here. Qui sera sera ...
