Canada Post + EIS Options after Item sold to US buyer

I listed an item yesterday.  I chose Canada Post options for Domestic and International. My account has been accpeted into EIS. Item sold to US buyer and Canada Post and EIS do not show as shipping options? Is there a glitch or something? WAut and see what happens tomorrow?

The buyer purchased selecting your Canada Post service option, instead of EIS.

EIS is a service selected by the buyer at checkout, and comes at an increase cost to the buyer.

You can't purchase labels to the US through ebay labels now, so Canada Post is not shown as an option.

To ship with Canada Post, you will need to buy Canada Post label elsewhere (there are a few options/methods), and prepay any duties.

If this is for the toner cartridge it will be about $8.25 for $50 item made in Japan ($7.50 duties + $0.75 fee), plus $2 to $3 to obtain a declaration ID to prepay these duties/fees.  (manual payment via App is the simpler method)

The shipping ebay calculated will be much less than what you can buy a label for through Canada Post.  So you will have a loss on label cost too.  At minimum you would want to signup for Canada Post Solutions for Small Business first to have at least level 1 discount.

"Item sold to US buyer and Canada Post and EIS do not show as shipping options?"...

Now that may depend on the item>>>Not everthing qualifies to be shipped through eIS...there are many categories, many types of items that cannot be shipped via eIS >there are some restrictions so be sure you know what those are when listing items for which you apply USA as a shipping destination. As well, there are many known glitches when utilizing the eIS option...

There's some items that don't currently qualify for eIS. eBay is also having problems getting some items across the border.  Regardless, if you have an option for international shipping (I assume including USA) via Canada Post, the buyer can choose that and bypass eIS. The only way to force it to be eIS only is to not offer your own option to that destination.

The big challenge with trying to use CP tracked to the USA is losing access to the level 4 discount with ebay labels. Most sellers would only qualify for level 1 with SSB account. Substantial difference between the 2. Only way would be to disable the discount option and hope buyer still buys seeing what they see with boilerplate that you would refund difference when possible.

Re: Canada Post + EIS Options after Item sold to US buyer

As flipistics mentions if you are still showing Canada Post options for International (including US) the buyer can choose that INSTEAD of eIS. Some people want to give buyers the choice as they may be okay with doing it themselves (using zonos) but if you want it only handled by eIS you have to remove all international options and only show Canada Post for shipping within Canada I believe.  I haven't tried it yet myself but when I read that previously I went in and removed US shipping options (other international have had no options as I only shipped to Canada and US the last few years).

More details on the issue I am having... I listed with Canada Post shipping both for Domestic and International, buyer chose US tracked packet and paid, now when I go to ship the only options are UPS and Fedex ...NO Canada Post shipping options

Thanks for clearing things up everyone. From what I can tell eBay let's you use Canada Post as International shipping options, but you cannot print out International Canada Post labels.  This is my first US sale since de minimis was removed.

I believe you can print out Canada Post international postage labels from eBay for any destination except the United States.
