Re: Your eIS experiences to date - Unofficial survey

So far things seem pretty smooth. I really have no complaints other than price to some places. Speed isn't amazing in most cases, but it seems fairly acceptable, especially for this time of year. I'll give some examples to various destinations:

  1. Item to Slovenia. Picked up October 22nd, delivered sometime after November 5th.
  2. Item to USA. Picked up October 23rd, delivered November 6th.
  3. Item to Germany. Picked up October 27th, delivered November 3rd.
  4. Item to Portugal. Picked up November 4th, delivered November 21st
  5. Item to Italy. Picked up November 13th, delivered December 4th
  6. Item to Australia. Picked up November 24th, delivered December 15th
  7. Item to USA. Picked up November 28th, delivered December 12th

Re: Your eIS experiences to date - Unofficial survey

Don't worry. Everything is going well. I've had no concerns with the delivery portion of the EIS program (once they get receipt of the item).

If you are nervous use Canada Post label off of eBay - they seem to be the best at delivering to the hub. Some of the other carriers have had some delays.

So far, so good. No issues.

Delivery times are comparable compared to what it used to take when I shipped using CP Tracked Packet US.

- Have you had combined shipments going to 1 customer? Were the shipping charges reasonable?

Conditions of my answer:  Domestic shipping option is calculated and Canada Post Expedited (or Lite)

Combined shipping will take the sum of the weights of each item, and calculate an Expedited parcel rate from the new total weight.  If you have domestic handling fees, the domestic handling fee will be added for each item combined though.  Handling fees are not included in the shipping cost that fees are based on.

If you add an item that uses a different shipping service, say you have combined 4 Expedited Parcel items and one item that uses Expedited Lite, the full expedited Lite charge will apply seperately from the 4 combined Expedited items.  Add another Expedited lite item and two full Expedited lite charges apply if over the weight limit of Lite, I only tested Lite items that combined would be over Lite limits though.

For mine it worked out, except the buyer paid 5x what they needed to in handling fees.

Re: Your eIS experiences to date - Unofficial survey

From a quick google search on problems with eIS when it rolled out in the USA in 2023. Unsure how much is better now or worse.

Yes, there have been various reported issues with the eBay International Shipping (eIS) program since its rollout in the US in 2023..technically2022, and later in Canada in late 2025. Issues are reported by both sellers and buyers and generally relate to technical glitches, shipping logistics, and costs.
Key issues with the eIS program include:
  • Shipping Delays and Tracking Problems Packages often experience significant delays at the eIS shipping hubs in locations like Illinois and California. Buyers report long delivery times, and tracking information is sometimes delayed or nonexistent once the package reaches the hub.
  • Missing or Incorrect Items There have been multiple reports of items being misdelivered or lost entirely once they reach the processing hubs. In some cases, buyers received a completely different item than the one they ordered, pointing to potential labeling errors at the facility. While eBay typically refunds the buyer and lets the seller keep the sale, this causes frustration for customers who wanted the specific item they purchased.
  • Technical Glitches Sellers have experienced numerous technical issues, such as the eIS option not appearing for eligible countries (especially the United States for Canadian sellers), listings having their available countries completely stripped, or the system incorrectly adding quantities to listings.
  • Increased Costs for Buyers Many buyers and sellers have noted that eIS shipping fees can be significantly higher—sometimes double the previous Global Shipping Program (GSP) costs. This has led to cancelled orders and reduced international sales for some sellers.
  • Item Restrictions and Limits The program has restrictions on item value and weight, with different limits for various countries, which can prevent some items from being shipped internationally.
  • Import Charges Initially, a major pain point was that buyers could not pay for import charges at checkout, unlike the GSP, causing unexpected fees upon delivery and subsequent cancellations.
eBay states it bears all responsibility for the shipment once it reaches their hub, aiming to provide peace of mind for sellers, but operational problems have continued to generate frustration in the community forums.
