After using the discounted ebay labels for over a year now, I accidently discovered that the label price that I see when buying a label isn't necessarily the same price that ebay eventually deducts from me as label fees.
I charge all my buyers with exact shipping and that price initially shows as the deducted fee, but once that item reaches Canada Post processing several days later... many of those fees are jumping as much as $4.00 and in one case even doubled.
And before you say anything, all my weight and size listings are exact and correct (I own a ruler and a digital scale, thank you very much), yet some fees are very quietly getting bumped up days after purchase and with no notice from ebay or CP.
I would advise checking your order details for deducted label fees for each item a week or so after purchasing them.
One recent ebay $4.95 Expedited Lite ebay label from Hamilton, Ontario to the Mississauga shipping hub very quietly jumped to a $11.05 label fee several days later without any explaination.
Ebay Customer help informed me that it is Canada Post doing this and not ebay itself and there doesn't seem to be any way to address this.

There are several reports about this problem with Expedited Lite on theBoards. Do a Search.
I don't think there has been an explanation or any useful advice yet.

I'm just doing some shipping today and I'm seeing over $11 from AB to ON. This seems really weird as Ex Lite to there is usually in the $8 range if I recall. Something weird is going on and I've had no contact regarding it.

I don't know about eBay, but Etsy lost its deep discounts with Canada Post months ago...Canada Post labels through Etsy are still discounted, but not so much a "great" deal as they had been many months ago...I haven't purchased a shipping label on eBay for over 4 months, so have no idea what current Canada Post-eBay discounts are or if they have changed...

What were your dimensions and weights? Non-Lite smaller boxes less than 23x20cm can be explained in some cases, as ebay or Canada Post generate new dimensions that are larger than your entered measurements if they are smaller than L=23 and W=20, this results in a higher charge.
How recent was the the Lite shipment to the Hub?

Canada Post had had a promotion running on eBay during the summer, and it ended in late August. The price took forever to adjust, probably the same over there.

The regular deeper Etsy discounts with Canada Post(no Canada Post promo like on eBay), for the Etsy shipping Labels, were gone way back in July, so we Canadian sellers on Etsy have not had those deeper discounts since that time...There is still a discount for Canada Post-Etsy shipping labels, but not at the same level as pre-July 2025...Canadian Etsy sellers were never given any explanation, but we Canadian sellers suspect that likely Canada Post and Etsy did not renew that previous discount agreement and a not so deep discount is the result.

Getting a correction/fix for this concern PDQ is even more important for sellers that choose to use either flat rate or rate tables.

I would say with the price difference, you have been cubed. Looks like Expedited Light to Expedited Parcel. Expedited parcel used to be just over double the cost of Light. Not todays prices though... This difference would increase the more remote the location, I believe.
Tell us the dimensions you used? No worry on weight as I am guessing under 200 grams.

Another Expedited Lite report.

Just printed an Expedited Lite label and the discounted price has doubled since last week, yet Canada Post hasn't increased their rates since January 2025?

I use calculated shipping in my listings with weight and size all listed correctly. Buyer paid $6.80 for shipping, and $6.80 is what showed up on my end when purchasing the label.
A week or so later, that $6.80 suddenly changes to $11.05 in my order details. If there is any cubing going on, it should have been done when the buyer purchased the item... not quietly and anonymously a week later!
90% of my items are all under the same 200g 24x19x2 cm measurements and this is the first one to jump in label fees after the fact... and it's also the first one I've shipped to the hub.
