I have not been charged for a CP shipping label since June 24th. This is VERY odd. Usually get charged a couple of days after generating the label.
I did get charged for 2 UPS labels on Jul 1st so I don't think the problem expands to all labels, just CP ones.
Is anyone else noticing this? Any help or info is appreciated!

It is unlikely that the discrepancy has anything to do with the rate increase, as $21.40 --> $23.68 is just over 10%, and that's way higher than any service was supposed to increase. Also, the label was purchaesd on June 30th and the rate increase went into effect June 26th, so it should have been taken into consideration already.
I would also like to know why the billed rate is higher than the quoted rate, but I've acknowledged that I will likely never know the answer to that question, and the $2.28 in lost profit isn't enough for me to expend significant effort to figure out.
I called and got credit for the difference on one charged today, as I had an Expedited lite sale that I added insurance on show $15.37 and then was billed today at $17.63. I bought the label on June 27 so also after the rate changes.
I don't usually add insurance to anything but this on was a 400$ sale so I added the extra.
I have tried to "rereate my order" by getting another label for the order, it honestly looks like Canada Post added a signature to my order that I did not request! and thats $2.00 + tax would be the difference. There is a signature on the tracking info, I never ask for signature unless its $600+ lol
In your scenario, that actually checks out. Canada Post requires signature confirmation of delivery on anything with an insurance value of $200 or more. There isn't any way to ship something via Canada Post valued at greater than $200 without having it signed for. It seems as though eBay Labels isn't coded for that properly - it's showing the "Require Signature at Delivery" as a separate checkbox (with a $2 price tag) as if it's a separate option and not a requirement at $200+ valuation. So if you bought the label with liability coverate greater than $200, but didn't check the "signature required" box, then Canada Post properly billed eBay for the signature as it was a mandatory requirement of the service.
When you complained to eBay I'm sure they knew none of that though and just gave you a courtesy refund.
Now that you mention this I think this is what happened to my shipment too, as I think I put the liability coverage at $200 and left the "signature required" checkbox unchecked (when it shouldn't have even been a checkable option to begin with). The discrepancy in my price is exactly $2 plus 14% (which is the HST in Nova Scotia, where the package was headed).
devon@ebay can you pass this along to the shipping team - clearly the signature requirement for Canada Post labels isn't being properly implemented on eBay Labels.
Hi @dinomitesales! I will be sure to have this feedback shared with the Shipping Team.

Four went through yesterday with one double charged. (The one double charged was for a domestic package under 100grams and the tracking number shows the same for both charges, both charges are also different. - I very much only purchased one label for this item.)
At under 100g, was it an expedited Lite label? Do the two charges add up to what a regular non-Lite expedited label would cost?

Got one from June 28th today (CP domestic expedited).
5 Charged. 6 to go. Mixture of Expedited Lite, Expedited and USA tracked. Charged latest to newest. Charged as per original label. (Without being audited/amended.)
Just would be nice if they could keep us in the loop regarding these kind of their end tech issues when they can affect........everyone.
Follow up. Still waiting on 6 labels to be charged. Generated between 6th and 16th. Shipment from 16th has been delivered.

Had 5 labels charged this afternoon for July 7-11

Yeah me too. Finally got charged for the remaining 12 labels (july 4th-10th). That is quite the delay. I hope its not this long going forward.

18 uncharged canada post shipping labels since Jul 14. Will this be an ongoing thing waiting weeks on end for canada post labrls to be charged?

It appears that it is still delayed and we still have no concrete answers.

Down to 3 missing (from 22nd and 24th). Mine have been charged through in 3 batches. July 17, 23 and 29th. Getting there slowly. Just would be nice if eBay could officially address issues like these formally.

Hi @lotzofuniquegoodies! At this time I have shared everything in this thread with the Shipping team. If there is any new insight that I can share, I will be sure to do so.

devon@ebay Thanks. Greatly appreciated. Aware of several sellers dealing with this issue. A couple in volume.

Seems to be mostly cleared up for me. Its back to charging me a couple days after label creation.
UPS labels are super delayed though, but I think thats normal for them.

Same here. Haven’t been charged for awhile.
Anyone else feeling like eBay is now holding our released funds hostage due to this recent pattern of major delays to process label charges? You do your best to have funds there to cover fees like postage but it gets to be out of your hands when it began to take up to 10 days or more for them to process.

Seems to be normal for me (usually 2 days). I haven't sent anything untracked since the postal strike started in November though.

Whatever is going on, it would be logical to believe the same observations were being seen by everyone. This does not seem to be the case.

This isn't normal as 90% of these labels are Canada Post, and those used to post within 1-2 days after the sale. Must have something to do with the service disruptions/manintenance from Canada Post.
Could be a glitch or could be the new norm, who knows.
devon@ebay - any info on these massive delays in labels being posted to our accounts?
Hi @dinomitesales! I know CPC was using a pay-on-print method but has moved to pay-on-scan for labels generated after July 2, 2025.
devon@ebay I mean that's fine, but that doesn't explain why we're not being charged for labels from 2-3 weeks ago. If it's "pay-on-scan", and assuming the "scan" isn't until it gets to a major processing centre, then that should be, what, 1-2 days max after handing the package off to Canada Post (assuming the sender isn't extremely rural)?
devon@ebay Can you get this addressed please? We are closing in on 3 weeks with not seeing labels getting charged. Please disregard if shipping labels going forward will be free. Thanks.
Is current billing for CP labels in limbo due to the strike? It was consistent up until sometime in August. Now they come through in small waves with a major lag from time created. Because of the lag now more routinely seeing revised charges vs what was originally quoted. Because eBay does not include a detailed explanation it is impossible to know what causes the discrepancy to final charges. I have a shipment from Sept 8 delivered to a Canadian address that hasn't been billed. I would much rather have charges pulled from cleared funds vs from my bank balance willy nilly.
Is anyone seeing inconsistencies/major delays with UPS/Fedex billing? Are you getting billed when item is eventually delivered? Are you seeing charges for unpaid US tariffs? Are refused shipments being returned or falling into the dreaded never to be seen again scenario?
The biggie.....Has everyone received their promised credits for incorrect billing in regards to Expedited lite double/revised charges fiasco?

Hi @lotzofuniquegoodies! As you know there are a lot of moving pieces and we are working closely with Canada Post for billing inconsistencies. Once we have more insight and information that we can share we will sure to let yourself and others know.

To anyone that created CP labels prior to the strike going live, best to monitor for missing charges. Hopefully they will be processed when strike has been resolved. That way no unexpected surprises down the road. I have several CP (US and Canada) shipments that have either been delivered or held up due to strike that have yet to be processed.
