Okay Ebay. What is going on? Why you lie about things to buyers? Since when do sellers pay tariffs?

IT IS THE U.S. BUYER WHO PAYS THEM.  I don't care if the buyer is US Citizen or an illegal immigrant. And Trump doesn't care either seems, he doesn't refuse tariffs paid by illegal Aliens living in the US, as long as it brings him money.

So Don't tell buyers I pay tariffs.

You put this screen there because you are rolling out Global shipping. There will be sellers who may opt out of Global shipping for various reason, for example because the rates are too high.

Secondly, you are barely rolling this out, 10 months after you should have started. You only offer it to selected sellers.

Yet you already assume the seller will pick the tariffs and pay for it.

I have the freedom to arrange separate payment from buyer to collect tariff payment and you won't stop me from doing it.  In fact, I make my US buyers pay those tariffs extra and Ebay earning 13% revenue on seller fees. So Ebay is even getting paid too.

You display that message prematurely as Global shipping is not available to all Canadian sellers and seconly, that message should show ONLY ONLY ONLY if the seller has ENROLLED into Glonbal Shipping.

It says the price includes the import fees. This must be with eIS (which includes the import fees) paid by the customers at  checkout.

Nowhere it says the seller is paying.

The way that the buyer reads it exactly is this: "The seller pays the import fees and tariffs".
Period.

The only difference is that NOT all items are tariff-applicable and therein lies the deception here on eBay...

I don't use Zonos. I use Stallion Express (or ChitChats) and I generate separate ebay invoice and send to buyer who pays the tariffs extra. Then I create shipping in Stallion Express and ship the item. That's my process. I don't care about Zonos process.

Not all sellers have access to either Stallion or ChitChats so there are sellers who do not have that same choice...eBay is not about to accommodate any one sector here so whatever eBay sets out sellers have to work with, whether that be a blanket statement or not...this is eBay's site>eBay makes the decisions whether we agree with them or not...We work with what is Not what we think it should be or what we want it to be...

IT's confusing the buyer and buyer start arguing with me.  I am on Ebay.COM. I can't increase shipping cost in some categories like Hedsests to include the tariff because the shipping there is limited to 20 USD.

That message is most likely with the eIS. eBay directly controls the eIS so they can confirm the state of the import fees.

eBay doesn't have control over standardization with individual sellers. So even if you sell something that you know won't have import charges, there is no reasonable way for them to confirm that.

Even if the item is supposed to be exempt from import charges like DVDs or CDs, there are some couriers like UPS who still charge them. eBay has no way of guaranteeing that won't happen.

If you are listing on.COM>that is your choice! You still have to work with whatever eBay sets out...it is what it is...

That poster is using a posting ID so we can't go and see... but from what I recall of their previous postings, when an item sells (and they sell lots made in China items), they create a listing for "tariffs" and direct the buyer to pay for that listing to cover the tariff.

I'm surprised that so many sellers still seem to be using DDU shipping ... eBay should be only offering DDP shipping to the USA now, and educating international sellers about the need to use DDP shipping to the USA.

I know that most sellers who are active in the Canadian board here, have found their own DDP solutions, but is very discouraging that eBay has abandoned their international sellers in this situation.

Not sure how effective it is, when I looked for tariff listings I was looking at what was currently up, only 5 or so listings currently up, but maybe  many sold. Lots of listings mention tariffs (they say "no tariffs" or "USA tariffs paid"), so lots of stuff came up in the search that wasn't what I was looking for, and then I saw the Australian sellers tariff listing.

I'm shipping DDP, but I moved all  high tariff items to my canadian store and blocked US shipping on those items. I can't be paying 39% tariff on a Swiss coin, or 50% tariff on an India/Brazil coin... In my US store with US shipping I offer mostly items with 10-15% tariff. I'm doing some price adjustments on certain things, and in my US store I've removed around 2500 items from the store when the tariffs started. (My store now has 9000 items).

Lol what a terrible idea. Not only does it look super sketchy to the buyer, it also provides no protections to the seller. They have to be banking on the American buyer blindly agreeing to "purchase" this tariff listing, and also not being smart enough to not file an INR on the listing and just get their money back from the tariff lol. They're also paying eBay fees on the tariff this way; if they just increased their US shipping rates they wouldn't have to do that. Weird choice.

A poster in this forum has admitted to creating a listing for "tariffs" for the buyer to pay, but they're using a posting ID, so we can't see what this listing looks like or now it's presented.

I did a search on eBay and came up with the above listing from an Australian seller. It seems there's quite a few sellers doing this. I don't think eBay allows this.

Why not, ebay makes money extra. I can sell a poster, print the poster and send the poster to buyer. The buyer buying a poster from me. Whether I add the poster to the package with the item or not is entirely between me and the buyer, as long as the buyer doesn't say item not as described.

The problem with that is the seller is stealing the graphics, it's not his own, I assume, collage he/she created. If he was listing this on Etsy, it would be taken down because it's not original art-work. On the other hand, I wouldn't be opulent mentioning it's US tariffs. There is no point and no need. The second issue is the category is misleading. He needs to list it into something like printed art-work. Listing it into wrong category could get him the listing taken down.
