I was hoping I'd see some progress on tracked items still in the system (in Canada), nothing so far.
I thought I'd see something at my wee (rural) PO, nothing was delivered today.
My store reopening won't happen till I see something on the go.
(I did put into the mailstream today the sale to a buyer in Hungary that was patient enough to wait for me to ship it as I didn't get it out before they stopped accepting parcels).

It's the first after a holiday, and after moving to a rotating strike (on a Saturday). I think things will be start moving soon enough, but it will be slow as molasses.

I believe the statement issued was something like this:
"The corporation warned customers to expect delays as operations resume, and added that the shift to rotating strikes will introduce uncertainty and instability. All service guarantees are suspended until further notice."

I should have been clearer nothing to anyone in our entire PO and rural routes today.... the PM was surprised they got nothing at all....

Two of my items that were in limbo because of the postal strike were delivered today. These were both items that were shipped back east. So there is some progress.

Same at mine. Only the PM was there and they closed the office for lunch hour because there were no other staff. It didn't appear there was any mail delivered, although there were some people picking up packages presumably from before the strike. I had to send an item off to a remote location and there were no other good options. Thank god I had some flat rate boxes on hand.

Under the circumstances(holiday weekend and all), I would not expect a lot of movement before the end of the week as there will be lots of processing, sorting, etc going on in the meantime...

@flipistics Post office or postal outlet?
I presume since you said "postmaster" it was a post office.
We don't usually get residential mail on Tuesdays, so nothing different there about no delivery.
I mentioned at the Post Office today my suggestion that CPO go to a residential three days a week delivery including Saturdays (either MWF or TTSaturday) and the clerk, who like all counter staff put in her time as a carrier, thought it would work, including the Saturdays.
FWIW they were not at all busy, and the box outside was not filled by the sound when I dropped in the "letters" I don't let the staff see.

I have just checked status of mailed items, one internations still no update, but three packages to USA are one move.Left Canada yesterday and today are in Chicago.

I recieved one package today that still has no tracking updates since Friday, Sept.26/25. So packages are moving even if there are no updates.

Got 3 pcs of junk mail yesterday. (Tuesday in community mail box). Local shoppers PO was closed for the holiday on Monday. In past it had holiday hours of 12 until 4.
Amongst all the CP propaganda it's been mentioned closing rural/small town post offices. Unsure how that will work or go over. 3 days per week might work for everyone else....well unless they are waiting for something extremely urgent like gov documents or a cheque.

Of my stranded packages, all 3 to the US are showing progress via USPS (but NOT Canada post), one of the ones to a Canadian was recieved today, they let me know, so stuff is moving.
I dropped the Hungary bound item at the PO yesterday and it is showing in Toronto now, so it is moving as well.
My "time away" was ironically scheduled to end at 11pm tonight, I'm going to let the store reopen and we'll see how things go.

Yes, things are moving. I had a package (my first Zonos entry) mailed on Thursday, Sept.25/25 (from Winnipeg) finally got a tracking update on Wednesday, Oct.15/25 (processed through Toronto). So it's on it's way to the USA so will see if it passes through customs without any hiccups.....

My score so far:
All tracked packages from September (both to and from) are still showing delay warnings.
Tracked package I sent Oct 14 (Ontario to Saskatchewan) was delivered Oct 15.
First in, last out .... 🙄
Untracked lettermail, I had a September purchase show up on Wednesday. So some things are moving...

Thursday, Oct 16 update: all my tracked packages (outgoing & incoming) are now showing tracking updates. 🙂

This is sort of off topic, because it's about shipping to the States and not within Canada. I've been keeping a close eye on the tracking, but I just had a pick up by UPS and the driver told me that the U.S. is shipping truck loads of packages back to Canada because they can't process them quickly enough.
Go Figure!
I was wondering how that was going to work. As far as I know they didn't hire extra workers to process the new tariffs so it's no wonder they can't handle the added work load.
Not only do they need more employees, they probably also have to build bigger facilities to accomodate the added packages.

Maybe I'm having comphrension problems... but something you said caught my attention.
UPS is shipping truckloads of packages back to Canada because they can't process them quickly enough? What does that mean? That people shipping to the US might have their item randomly returned because customs can't process it? I get that UPS ships DDU... it's kind of scary that not only might your buyer not pay their tariff and have it come back, but that it might just randomly come back because there's too many parcels to process.
But perhaps I didn't understand your post, so maybe you can elaborate.

He told me that the packages are piling up and they only keep them for a certain amount of time. I can't recall the exact number of days he said, but he told me that if a package hadn't moved in "X" number days it was returned to the sender.
He was really stressed because of the added work load due to tariffs coupled with the PO strike plus having to personally return numerous packages to shippers and explaining the situation to them.
My UPS packages have been getting delivered but so far I've only shipped Made in USA items to the States.

If this is a UPS thing, that is just another reason to go CP/Zonos. Crazy that the courier with all the established customs processes is tripping over their feet.
