Stallion Express/PostNL still charging duty for informational material (CD’s, vinyl etc)

Has anyone heard anything from Stallion as to why they are still charging duty on duty free items when using PostNL? CDs, books, records etc should all be duty free but Stallion is still charging for them.
I’d ask them directly but their customer service tends to be pretty slow.

Stallion does not charge duty. Customs from the buyer's country are the ones doing that. As far as I know, many countries within the EU do charge duties on books and cds.

It is my understanding that VAT is charged on all goods including CDs,vinyl, etc shipped to EU countries regardless of their value.

Sorry, I should have written my question better. Stallion/PostNL are still charging TARIFFS for informational materials going to the USA. These are supposed to be tariff free.

Where are you seeing this charge?

I have not used the PostNL to US service but I have played around with it using Tariff codes for "informational materials" and I did not see anything that lead me to believe that any tariffs where being charged. The testing I have done was both right after they announced the service and then again last week, there have been some changes to the layout during that period but the rates offered did not change.

Confirm we are talking about shipments to the US.

Which HTS codes are you using?

Can you provide some screen shots that show tariffs being added?

I believe the NL post option does not have any tariffs waived, but since it's for a specific sector, I can't say for sure why that is. I know there's no CUSMA with NL Post shipments.

You can email them, they tend to reply to some faster than others (if it's a frequent question it's a cookie cutter reply to explain), if you have a specific problem they will be more slow to respond.

OK, so I read your post correctly (I assumed you meant to the US, as Stallion doesn't charge anything for other destinations, that's added at delivery).

I would suggest using US Economy and USPS Ground Advantage (and set up a SKU) whenever possible. They don't check that carefully, I have provided an address for a company that went out of business in 1915 in the UK, they accepted it. If the maker is printed on the booklet with the media, find their address with Google.
