Tariffs prepaid with zonos, but listings shows import fees….

Hi, all my listing both on ebay.ca and ebay .com now show that my items have import fees....

yet, all of them are shipped with canadapost and all tariffs are prepaid with zonos.

not 1 sale in december, this was our best month on ebay for over 25 years.... on the good side, most of my ebay client went straight to our website.

is there a way to remove that warning?

No, all of us want it removed too (some because tariffs are being prepaid and included in the cost, or because the items shipped have no tariffs anyway and the banner is misleading).

We saw on some China sellers' listings that it said there were no import fees, supposedly this is some new program but I haven't heard any more about this nor have I been invited to join.

On my dot com store last week I had three buyers tell me that I'm advertising no tariffs and eBay tells them there are tariffs, and they don't know what to do because they don't want a surprise when their package is delivered. It really ticks me off that eBay is contradicting my advertising. Already buyers are told everywhere that there are tariffs on international packages, so I'm trying to advertise that in my store the tariffs are included in the cost of the item. Yet eBay is telling my buyers that this is untrue and they'll have to pay tariffs.

Some add messaging to the start of descriptions explaining to US buyers the messaging during checkout that import fees ebay states will be collected prior to delivery are included in your shipping and prepaid prior to delivery and therefore won't be collected on delivery by USPS using Canada Post services.

Exactly! It needs to be removed.

and on top of that, it adds a link to pay the said fees, so buyer would pay double fees, lol what a joke!

Ive cancelled my seller account after 25 years and 100% pos feedback, what a shame.

You offer eBay International Shipping (eIS) as well as direct international shipping for your items.   The option to pre-pay import fees or pay them on delivery is available for buyers who choose eIS over your direct shipping option.

Especially for buyers in countries other than the USA who don't have to deal with the nonsense our American friends do.

Your picture did not show up when I clicked on your post, but when I looked at your listng the message is saying  "International shipment of items may be subject to customs processing and additional charges."

That is a huge improvement from a few weeks ago when there was a big banner saying "will" be subject to, then when the banner was removed the message in that spot said "will" again but it was finally changed to "may", and that is as good as it will get and is similar to what internation buyers were told in the $800 de minimus days.

If you don't mind a suggestion, I would put right up front that there are no import or duties fees for US buyers.  There is also wording in the listing further down that reinforces that there might be fees - "These small items will never be charge for import, but still, we are not responsible for any customs/duty charges or delay."    If you are confident that with CP/Zonos buyers will not get any fees on delivery, I would remove that at it is likely just confusing potential buyers.

It still has 'will' and 'on delivery' for the import fees section though.

With EIS enabled it shows a total value for Import fees for EIS, and on the direct shipping above states 'Import fees will apply on delivery'.  So when you look down you see a suggested import fee a buyer might expect to pay on delivery for non-EIS option because it states an import fee will be collected.  Ugh.

Yes, good advice, will clear it up if I go back. But would be nice to that ebay just let us manage the warnings

Cautionary statements on the possibility of import charges have been a thing on eBay for decades. It’s just that this one specific to US buyers is on steroids and more than a bit confusing.

Some sellers use eBay as a subtle marketing or advertising platform for their websites. I do wonder if your returning customers would be able to find you without eBay as a guide.

Ahh, I see that.  That sucks and is incorrect of course.

Re: Tariffs prepaid with zonos, but listings shows import fees….

I'm just going to comment on this thread again...

I got a message from a buyer who almost demanded I update the listing to remove the reference of import fees after I told him the import fees are prepaid before the item reaches the US.

I'm infuriated because eBay's put that on my listing and I can't remove it or change it, and buyers are not trusting there won't be fees on my say so because eBay says there will be.

They really need to do something about this so those of us who don't ship UPS and FedEx (where there would be fees) will not have this appearing on our listings and scaring off customers.

People don't trust me, and it's a real uphill battle to re-earn that trust after everything that's happen (the worst of it eBay is spreading lies that buyers are going to believe because "it says so on the listing").

I did explain to my potential buyer how it's shipped, that eBay did this, and why they are doing this and not letting me change my listing. We'll see in the next day if he purchases. I hope he does. I really would hate to lose a $45 USD sale where it's all profit for me because of this issue.
