USPS delivery changes in 2026 (observation)

This is from a January 30 newsletter (Robrt's Anime Corner Store):

"Last week I talked about how USPS is changing their first scan policy -- not scanning accepted parcels until they get to the first sort center. I wanted to mention that we've also noticed another US Postal trend where a parcel may get scanned as 'delivered' the day before it actually goes out for delivery. I think some of these are mis-scans, and some of these are carriers trying to economize their route time by not having to actually scan each parcel when it's delivered. ... 70% of the time these parcels end up being delivered the next day.

Imagine the mess for the seller...Marking the shipment as "Delivered" the day before actually getting into the hands of the buyer. Then something happens and it never gets to the destination.

All the more reason to respond immediately to any Claim with the tracking number.

You may also want to Message the complaining buyer with polite, professional, and  soothing words, including once again that tracking number.

You want to show that you are actively cooperating.

And if it gets as far as the Claim, also immediately send the Return Shipping. You can send USPS labels from Canada through Shippo.

Active cooperation.

Soothing professional messages.

Then.

No refund without return.

No refund until you have your product back in your hands.
