Vinyl LPs showing tariffs for eIS listings to USA

All my vinyl LP listings are showing tariffs due when viewed on .com, eIS shipping only. This is incorrect - vinyl LPs are considered informational material, just as books, CDs, DVDs, etc.  All my DVD listings do NOT show tariffs.  I notified the eIS team via an email 2 days ago and no response.   If anyone else is experiencing this please contribute here and notify eIS at [email protected].

By "tariffs" do you mean "Import Charges"?  Possibly eBay like others is charging a processing and/or  admin fee on items that are tariff free.  I don't know. 

Some of my vinyl has an Import Charge of $6-$7. Some has none. This is reflective of everything in my store.  Band shirts etc are the same. With respect to vinyl a quick look suggests my COOs marked Canada have Import charges. My COOs marked United States have no Import Charge. 

It looks like  EIS was released prematurely possibly to garner at least some Q4 sales. I don't see any point in analizing it. I'm not wasting time with workarounds or sending emails. I will never get that time back. Anyone at EIS can read the forum.  The EIS combined shipping/import charges prohibit most low value sales anyway.  I'm focused on domestic until EIS is stable and hopefully part of the US De minimis is restored. 

On the bright side, my USA store visibility is at least being restored as I lost all previous US exposure by excluding the US.

 You will probably be able to post the same thing a year from now (or 2 or 3 years from now) when these issues are still an everyday experience.

I hope not,

  I realize "e Can" has different export parameters than the US.  That said they've been through the retooling process from the GSP before and have had 3 years of practice. EIS began in 2022.

  In seriousness, it wouldn't be broken if there was some sort of De minimis.  If the data is correct and 90% of all widgets sold are under $30usd then we wouldn't be in this pickle if the US had even a  $30usd de minimis (I want $150)  Canada wasn't a hurdle for the US EIS because 90% of their exports to Canada were and still are duty free..

The import charges roll in tariffs and processing fees - one example is a rare Judas Priest Painkiller picture disk made in the Netherlands. Import fees are 37.xx USD which reflects 10% tariff plus processing fees. My CA CoO are all at 35% plus processing.

  I don't mind the breakdown of import charges isn't shown in the listing but sellers should be able to drill down and see them. I tried to see your vinyl from this end but your seller account is blocked so I looked at mine again. Here are some examples with item numbers if you want to see what's happening here. I haven't checked thoroughly but I'm not seeing Import Charges for USA COOO items.

I can say I listed an item yesterday. EIS didn't like it. I left it up and moved on. Today it's fine. 

Always better to list than resist!

When I check the Priest album (Netherlands COO) an Import Charge in the amount of $54.27 comes up. 

The wish We Were Here album shows as sold but the "Original Listing" shows no Import Charge if shipped to Orlando. This is the same result I get for albums with a Canadian COO . That said I don't understand why USA COOs will have the fees added. It's definately a deal breaker for albums under $40 when Americans  ship them domestically for $6-$7 media mail.

Makes both sellers and buyers wonder how accurate eIS applied fees are when the invoice gets sent and the confuzzled expression on sellers face when they receive it. 

Why it is soo important that the math gets shown....ALWAYS!!!

I don't "wonder" because I know as fact that they do not calculate these things correctly (accurately). This not just an EIS Canada issue, it's the same screwed up system the US EIS uses and the old GSP used. The result is that some buyers get a deal (shipping and tariffs too low) while others get overcharged (shipping and tariffs too high).
