Hey guys!
Since around August, every time I get a U.S. order I see this notice:
“Due to changes in U.S. customs regulations, all Canada Post services to the U.S. and Puerto Rico are temporarily disabled.”
I’m wondering if eBay has provided any timeline on when this will be re-enabled?
Paying duties and printing lables via Canada Post not only expensive, but also very inconvenient. I hope the original Canada Post (usa) shipping serviec will be restored.

The only enabled service from eBay is through their International Shipping service (eIS).
Or you could use UPS or FedEx.

That’s the million dollar question. I heard they are working on Zonos integration but no idea when that will be rolled out. I’d say that would be a lot more valuable than the subpar eIS program they rushed out.

eIS is extremely expensive, indeed.
i genuinely hope they are workign on integrating zonos, but so far 3 month passed and with this speed rate we will probably see it by next december hahaha.

Extremely expensive? Not really. At least for the type of items I sell.
Comparatively to what was before, about 10 to 25% more than it used to be. And now I don't have the hassle to deal with the tariff/duties/taxes part of it. Well worth it!

Using UPS or FedEx will result in a multitude of issues and will in many cases be extremely costly for SELLERS. It should never be suggested for shipping to the US.
Since eBay is not offering Canada Post US shipping labels the correct advice is to purchase these labels from Canada Post directly.
As far as the speculation that eBay will integrate Zonos into their label system....don't hold your breath, they likely think EIS is the solution and even if they do integrate Zonos they will likely screw it up BADLY.
I have not used eBay for shipping labels in decades and there is nothing that could convince me that it's a good option. The latest debacle with Expedited Lite which has gone on for 5 months is just the latest example of how messed up eBay is when it comes to shipping.

eBay has no incentive to add Zonos to eBay Labels - it takes business away from eIS.
I would be very surprised if it is ever integrated.

Ebay might not have an incentive to integrate Zonos but you can bet that Canada Post sure does! They need every contract they can get these days. Not to mention, Zonos themselves surely are wanting to get themselves onto all the platforms. Plus, there are plenty of us that don’t buy into the eIS that still need shipping options to the US.

But there are options. Chit-Chats? Stallion?
People need to realize there still are shipping options outside what eBay offers, if they are dead set against eIS (or if the eIS program is not available to their listings).

Yeah of course there are other options for some people but I don’t have access to Chit Chats or Stallion which is also the case with many sellers. Using Zonos app and Canada Post is time consuming and not a sustainable option for high volume sellers. eBay is a service we pay for and at the bare minimum we should have all the available tools and options to ship our items.
If you have access to EIS then you have the same access to Stallion, ChitChats or any of the other cross border shippers.
One of the big advantages to these services if you are not local to them is that you can ship multiple packages to them rather than the only one order at a time policy of EIS.

Promoted listings and EIS are a big cash grab for ebay and on top of Canada Post strikes and trump tariffs, Canadian small business e commerce is getting scorched.

If they are not going to allow Expedited Lite to the USA then they should disable it as an option you can select when you are building auctions.

Expedited lite is Canada eBay ONLY service. Not available to anywhere else in the world. Your best option would be USA tracked. Problem being the eBay discount with eBay labels displays on listing and calculator tool but you are blocked from purchasing with ebay labels. Your buyers will be seeing as a secondary option along with eIS when you have USA shipping turned on. As far as I know it still lets buyers purchase that discounted option at last testing.

Is eIS more expensive for the seller than shipping with Canada Post?
CPO+Zonos charges the postage +$1.99 service fee + 10% of the tariff, whatever that is.
And the seller pays eBay fees on that Entire shipping fee.
EIS charges postage to Mississauga + an unknown service fee *.
The buyer pays all import fees including tariff+ shipping from Canada to the USA.
And the seller pays eBay fees on the domestic shipping only.
Do I have that right?
The cost of eIS should be paid by the Buyer and disclosed to them before they order and pay.
*an assumption on my part . The GSP service charge was about $5 we decided in long discussions and was paid by the Buyer.

Correct .. should have said USA tracked Packet. Why have the option if we can't print the labels.
01-06-2026 12:57 PM
Because a lot of people still use it as they buy labels directly from Canada Post.
They may not want to offer it since they don't have Zonos integration. Though if you try to drop off a package you will be told to do the Zonos.

A work around would be to give sellers the option in preference to choose their discount level vs a %. A bare minimum most Canadian sellers could or should have access to level 1. There may be others that have 2, 3, or 4. A % doesn't work because the % varies substantially per service.
That way sellers could still offer CP (Snapship) with the Zonos option outside of eBay labels. Disclaimer would be something like CP labels must be purchased outside of eBay.

The last time it was mentioned was the webinar in December where they said there were no current plans to do so. There is another webinar tomorrow though, so if you can make it you could always ask.
