Worth paying the fees to list on ebay.uk as a Canadian seller?

Just wondering and looking for experinces from fellow Canadian sellers if as my US shipping has been turned off... is it worth it to tick that little list on UK site box and pay the few cents extra? I have had some sales to European buyers in the last year...

If it matters I sell handbags, wallets and jewellery mostly.

And please skip the "try and find out" type replies... if I wanted to do that I would not be asking...

FWIW - I enabled shipping to the UK as part of ordinary shipping, but do not pay "special fee".

I just gave a shipping price and enabled shipping to Europe/UK/ Germany/France/Australia/Japan.

I get sales to all of those, but mostly to UK and France. This may be something to do with my stock which does have a lot of Commonwealth material.

I can only assume that my UK customers are Searching on dotCOM where I usually list.

+1.

I would be intersted to know this, as well.

I have gotten a few sales from buyers in continental Europe, but none from the UK, so far. And like @reallynicestamps , my shipping options are enabled for both locations.

I doubt it's worth it unless you're selling something with a huge following in just UK.

I figure if I turned it on, I'd get maybe an extra 1 in 50 sales to UK, effectively paying $25 per sale, which is totally NOT worth it for most of us.

And even then, UK buyers occasionally buy my stuff anyway somehow.

eBay might want to get rid of the dumb fee if they want to make some extra commissions. I can't imagine many people paying it on lower-cost items.

My understanding is that that little tickbox is a relic from eBay's Bronze Age.  If you're selling something pretty unusual, your item will likely show up in a keyword search on eBay UK even with the tickbox unchecked.

Try searching for your items on eBay UK with your browser set to incognito or private mode and see if they come up.  Of course, the "best match" search results may be based partly on the fact that your location is Canada (if the search bot is sophisticated enough to pick up on that), but it may not, but it's worth seeing how much competition there is out there for the item in your search.

I'm shipping a sewing pattern to the UK today.

I suppose the buyer bought it on dotCOM where most of my patterns are listed, but I don't pay the premium on either site.
