I finally been added to eIS.
I'm happy to simplify sending to the USA using any kind of automated calculation on eBay...
But, there's a big problem.
I'm using Canada Post International tracked. The shipping method shown by default on searches and item is eIS, even if Canada Post Tracked is cheapest.
devon@ebay I thought it was supposed to show the cheapest methods in searches and default on item? Seems to be a bug there ?
See screenshots.

Default on items
But Tracked international is way way cheaper. This is basically killing my international sales.

Send your example(s) to [email protected]
Nothing may/seems to come of it, but that is where we've been told to send cases to when somthing is not showing how we expect it to.

Just did.
If it's not fixed soon, I might have to opt-out... Will see how it goes...

I would be doing my testing on sites other than eBay Canada as it's very unlikely that a non-Canadian buyer will be searching and browsing on the .ca site.
What I'm seeing on .com is that a Tracked Packet option isn't showing up at all to the US, but maybe that's a deliberate choice?
And while your eIS option is the one showing up in List View with my location set to the Netherlands, it's cheaper than what US listings using eIS show for shipping to that country and not much more expensive than your Tracked Packet option.

I'm not using Calculated shipping for USA, only eIS. So that is expected.
On .com, if I switch to Netherlands, it is the same thing. eIS is showing first.
14,66$ US
Default view 14,66$ eIS
But Canada Post Tracked Packet is less expensive (12,18US)
The cost is almost the same for Netherlands (a few dollars difference only), but other countries, the difference is huge. It's still showing eIS by default with my tests.

devon@ebay I have pinpointed the problem to be Calculated shipping only.
When using Flat Rate, this is working as expected.
17$ is flat rate (not eIS)
So Flat rate is working fine. Calculated Shipping is using eIS by defaut even if Calculated is cheaper.

Yes, I've pretty much said the same things in my previous post. My only further question is, what countries are you using to check eIS shipping prices? I just checked Australia, which is often extremely expensive to ship to via eIS, and the difference between the eIS and Tracked Packet is less than C$3.00.
EDITED TO ADD: Glad to see that you've isolated the problem. Make sure you pass that information along to the eIS team by email.

My solution for the moment:
Flat rate for all international (I have setup different flat rates depending on categories / weight). I've invested a lot of time to calculate each country. I'm still tweaking with time. That's why I prefer Calculated, but oh well...
I have also removed United States from the Flat Rate chart. And I have blocked United States, just to make extra sure. I allow ebay to ship to blocked contries with eIS.
That way, I will be using eIS only for the United States, Flat Rate for the rest, until this bug is fixed.
edit: For testing, I'm using the .com

Hi @chicweb! Thank you for sharing and I will have this reported over to the eIS team.

devon@ebay Would you be able to advise once this has been corrected?
Please and thanks

In testing several of my own listings for currency..both notes and coins are showing up as acceptable for eIS to USA and elsewhere. Same observation for stamps. According to the eBay list of allowable categories, they should be blocked. Does this mean if they get sold to an Intl buyer, once they reach the hub they will stopped in their tracks and buyer will be refunded? Item will be auctioned off?
Similar results on some of your listings @reallynicestamps (example: Cyprus stamps) . Anything listed with Flat Rate Shipping - Expedited option displays. Listed via dot com so eIS exempt.
Disclaimer. Tested just to confirm what would display.

Off topic to the original thread topic, but regarding stamps through eIS.
Just had a shipment of postage stamps sent through eIS from the USA -- went through without problems. No idea if that being allowed applies to Canada's eIS.

eBay USA's version of eIS has options, features, eligible categories that eBay Canada's eIS system does not yet have...

IF eBay is revising what is or isn't allowed they SHOULD be keeping ALL sellers looped in.
For stamps and currency that affects millions of listings on both sites.
