I have two items I have sent via eIS that haven't moved from the hub to the buyer for 2 days now, 1 US bound the other UK, both show Asendia e-PAQ service from hub to buyer. US bound shows e-PAQ regular, which when I check on the Asendia site, is described as not having ANY tracking and is cleared via postal service customs. The UK bound shows e-PAQ select which does have tracking. Both show the e-PAQ service as originating in the US - which means as far as I can tell that the UK package will enter the US before heading to the UK.
Hey, eBay - what the heck? 1st your charging a buyer high shipping prices to send a package at letter rates. 2nd your passing an item from Canada to the US to send it to the UK.
Why wasn't a logistics partner from CANADA used for the program? I know your headquarters is in the US and you don't have any real presence here, but this program needs to be done right!
Gives the impression of creating a service sold as better, faster and more economical to a service that IS more expensive and slower and a downgrade. Anything/everything I have sent in the past via CP...both tracked and small pkt air intl for Europe or anywhere east has gone by way of Mtl. Often delivered to Mtl in a few days from Calgary. Even my S. Europe stuff has gone directly to either London or Frankfurt and directly/promptly down on the 3rd leg of its journey to get forwarded to customer. Anything I've had going to Australia/NZ/Japan went to Richmond and direct to, for speedy delivery.
If Intl eIS stuff "needs" to route via the USA, I can't really see that to being an improvement to what we had before.
Note/Disclaimer: That still is not factoring how much more this program cost users in W. Canada or beyond vs S. Ont/ QC because of postage/courier costs to get an item to the hub. Consolidated shipping NEEDS to built in to this program from sellers perspective. Not just an only/if for combined shipping scenarios. (1 customer in play.)

Canadian eIS is very much a work in progress. Not all sellers have been opted into the program yet, the warehouse is probably not even finished yet, and it can't be running with a full complement of staff. You're probably going to see all sorts of "weirdness" while the dust settles.
The system is being operated by Sincro, an operation or divison of EasyShip. So is the US eIS. It likely made sense to have the same system operated by the same outfit, just like the GSP was operated by Pitney Bowes in the US and still is in the UK for the time being.
My wife and I have had items shipped from Asia by carriers such as FedEx that have gone through the United States first before ending up in British Columbia. There probably wasn't enough stuff destined for Canada in those shipments to justify shipping them to a Canadian destination in a large cargo jet, so they were just added to a US-bound plane and forwarded to Canada with other stuff from the US when they reached the States.
I don't see how what Sincro is doing is any different. At this point, there's probably not enough stuff coming out of the Canadian eIS warehouse to justify shipping directly out of Canada, so they're just shipping everything down to the US eIS hub instead. This may change.
By the way, where did you find out about "e-Pak Regular"? I can't find anything about it on the e-Pak information page on the Asendia website:
https://www.asendia.com/e-paq-overview
Speaking of changes, I checked the Sincro website just now to see what they have for contact information for the Mississauga hub, and there's a "coming soon" that I think users such as @lotzofuniquegoodies may find interesting. . .
