re us de minimus issue , how does this effect sellers from canada shipping to the us ?

who is supposed to pay for  the tarrif ?  the sender or the recipient ?  ebay  says that  CANADA POST  deliveries run the risk of  the US  sending  shipments back to sender !  what can  CANADIAN SELLERS  do   to  avoid  this  issue .

Theoretically speaking, either party can pay the tariff. The issue with Canada Post is that as of the 29th, it will not handle packages to the United States unless any applicable tariffs have been paid on them.

Have a breeze through some of the threads on this board if you have a chance.

It needs to be prepaid so the onus is on the sender

@electronicsextraordinaire

If you happen to be part of the rare breed that is willing to pay your buyers tariffs there will be  a valid Declaration ID - a 13-character code that confirms duties are secured before the shipment is accepted. Otherwise the shipment will be rejected and returned.
