Canada Post shipments treated as de minimis entries after August 29 - READ

As per section 6(b)(ii) in the executive order, until CBP has a system in place to collect tariffs via postal networks, shipments via postal networks will still enjoy de minimis entry - that means no flat fee, no ad valorem tariff rates, etc.

This will be removed once the system is in place to collect, there will be no grace period or advanced warning. ChitChats confirmed this carve out and information can be verified at the following link (PDF file and recording of their webinar on the upcoming removal of de minimis):

It's pointless for eBay to do this - the changes coming on the 29th REQUIRE duty to be prepaid no matter how the item is shipping to the US. So buyers in the US won't be asked to pay anything AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY if sent by USPS. From what I understand UPS will still be giving shippers a DDU option, so they'll try and collect from the buyer. But as we know from other conversations here, UPS is actually paying the duty to CBP before shipping. And then, if the buyer refuses, they demand the shipper pays. UPS needs to get rid of this policy as far as I'm concerned, it puts everybody in a very sh**Ty position.

You're right, but eBay doesn't have standardization to guarantee that every single seller is using a DDP service, or using the postal service that won't collect duties.

From a liability, customer service, and a pragmatic standpoint, it does make sense to put up a disclaimer because as you say, there are carriers or services that will try to collect at the door. eBay isn't just eBay Canada, it's eBay.com.

If this is true that there is a popup, what is disappointing is eBay putting it up this early. Effectively killing the last week of sales under the de minimis for some Canadian sellers. A few days early, I understand. 12 days is overkill.

Just because I am a Canadian seller, I will have over 1,000 CD's listed that were made in the USA, which from my understanding do not incur any tariffs sending it to the US.

I will be putting on each of the listings:

"US Buyers:  This CD was made in the USA therefore tariffs do not apply with this purchase."
