Expedited lite packet rates

So got the notification from eBay that they will allow us to print Canada Post labels again. I went to relist one but the rate for expedited lite on a 100 gram item is showing in the range of $15 to $30. So where has our eBay discount gone? Does anyone know what is going on with this?

Re: Expedited lite packet rates

Thank you so much jtg204. I just checked it & although I never changed a thing it was not allowing the discount to buyers. I changed it & the invoice to Sault Ste. Marie now  shows $7.44, quite a difference. When the CP labels were disabled perhaps this was changed by eBay, I just know I did not make the change but sure appreciate you pointing it out to me. Never even thought of it. Maybe I can get some Canadian sales now.

Re: Expedited lite packet rates

Same happened to us, Expedited Lite rates are showing as the same as the Regular Parcel rates, so we had to reluctantly choose Regular Parcel just in case the Expedited Lite was still glitching and not showing to all Canadian buyers.

Re: Expedited lite packet rates

It is very possible eBay and Canada Post discontinued all those nice discounts we have enjoyed in the past.

Back in July, it was noticed on my other selling site, that the CP discounts offered there, were no longer available, although a discount was still available, it had been greatly decreased from its previous level...

Re: Expedited lite packet rates

Hmmm, maybe they finally deactivated Expedited Lite with all the reported problems.

Or, just add this onto the laundry list as a new problem with the service lol.

devon@ebay - new glitch or unnanounced removal of the service? OP and I are in the same province, shipping shouldn't be this high through Expedited Lite. Unless OP lives very rural, but I doubt that because they seem to insinuate they've successfully used the service before.

I'm still seeing the discount (went to one order for Toronto and tried to buy another label). It came up for 635 grams.

Perhaps it's the destination? I did notice Expedited Lite to New Brunswick is quite costly. I have a customer there and usually ship their items lettermail because Expedited Lite is too expensive.

Re: Expedited lite packet rates

I just printed an Expedited Lite label. 100 grams, Manitoba to BC. $6.91.

Re: Expedited lite packet rates

I don't think it's deactivated, for a few items I still have Lite enabled on, I still see ebay's Lite discount rates (example)

If I attempt to print a label for old orders and change the dimensions I get discounted rates shown for the Lite option even using larger dimensions near the limits that would be upcharged.

For those affected, does the label purchase page also not show any discounts?

Re: Expedited lite packet rates

I am in Manitoba as well. Yes I am rural but use this option all the time. A great many of my items are under 200 grams. So I also just tried to send an invoice for a 100 gram item going to Sault Ste Marie,ON & it shows expedited  lite rate of $23.39 which is way way more than it was in the past. I really wish eBay would smarten up & tell us what is going on with this. Others seem to be getting more correct rates. I will not be selling much with these rates that is for darn sure.

I thought Expedited Lite was a service available exclusively to eBay Canada sellers, not a Canada Post discount per se.

Re: Expedited lite packet rates

Does the shipping calculator show the high rates too for your location?

Re: Expedited lite packet rates

Yes I am sure it was negotiated just for eBay because you cannot get it thru Snap Ship on their website.

Re: Expedited lite packet rates

I can get ebay's calculator to show me the rates shown on your listings for Lite from your location, but they match the full non-discounted rate of Lite/Expedited Parcel.

Has the setting to pass on discounted rates to buyers been unset maybe?

Re: Expedited lite packet rates

I'm showing a 90 gram 20x20x2 cm package to the EIS center here in ontario as $8.45 where it previously would have been under $7.00.

It appears to be available through Stallion as they have an info page dedicated to the service.

Something similar is happening to me. I sold an item that packed in at 145g 14x14x14 then purchased the Canada Post Expedited Lite option through eBay as per usual. The charge was $7.57, a proper difference from what I was being charged via SnapShip for Expedited.

Then, days later, eBay billed $18+ in total through a second charge of $10+. The total of the $7.57 and $10+ being the total for an Expedited parcel if purchased through eBay.

If I go and try to repurchase a label for the same shipment eBay calculates $7.57 and Expedited Lite. This is logical as it fits the criteria.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Re: Expedited lite packet rates

I just checked my settings & it was set to standard rates without discount. I had to reset it to eBay discounted rates. I had never changed any of my settings. Not sure why eBay switched them without telling anyone.

That page is actually designed to sell you on Stallion's services.  It states that Expedited Lite is available exclusively through eBay Canada and suggests you can do better.

Ah, scanned it too fast then. It was dismissed because it wasn't what I was concerned with. Good to know!

Re: Expedited lite packet rates

This description of a second charge that brings the total to Expedited Parcel rate sounds like the very common issue we have being trying to have resolved for a long time.
