How do I get a return shipping label from USA to Canada? I need one for an item a buyer wants to return because they say it is not as described.

Shippo I believe is the preffered service.

eBay also has a provision to reimburse the shipping amount directly, such as by Paypal but getting customers to understand that can be a pain.

Shippo, or if you can manage to get signed up, Pirate Ship with Simple Export Rate enabled are probably your best options. Depending on where you live, you could also look into something like Shippsy. You could possibly also try Sendle (unsure).

Is there a way to use Zonos for a return label? or how would one get border clearance for a return?

Zonos is in the mix because the USA has an idiot for a president whose likely illegal tariffs are being charged to US residents while the courts sort them out.

Canada allows the import of goods without any such folderol because we have a sane government.

Sign up for Shippo and get the label. It is quite straightforward.

Tell the customer to mark the package "Returned merchandise".

Do NOT refund until you have the item back.

BTW if they are not opening a Claim, you can decide how much to refund, so if you don't want to refund the return shipping or if they don't mark it as "returned merchandise" and you are charged import fees, you might decide not to refund the entire payment.

If the customer opens a Claim, eBay will supply the Return Shipping Label and that might in the long run be the easiest way to go.

Zonos is not a shipping service.  It is a program to pre-clear duty and tariffs prior to shipping with Canada Post.  Canada post is the shipping service so not an option to ship from the US to Canada.

I guess I was thinking there would have to be border clearance coming back, the orange doofus down south has got my head filled up with border nonsense. Thank god I live in a sane country.

There is border clearance, but "returned merchandise" is not dutiable, and while Canada does have some tariffed and quota'd (?) products, this doesn't usually have much to do with sellers at our level.

Alcan. Kraft,  and General Motors need to pay attention.

I don't believe eBay provides international return shipping labels, do they? Has something changed?

Nothing has changed and no they don't provide anything other than domestic labels.

In the end all worked out. The buyer canceled the return request. The buyer told me that an A I querry about the item indicated that sans-serif overprints on these stamps were forgeiies as they were not issued that way. After further consulting a stamp catalogue and a knowledgible fellow member of his stamp club he concluded that A I goofed and the stamps were good.
