I've just sent off my 4th parcel to the US using Zonos, 1st one already delivered.

I've just sent off my 4th parcel tonight to the US using Zonos, 1st one already delivered.  I was so lost at the begining, once you get the hang of it, not too bad, a lot more time to get the zonos code then snap ship.  No tariffs but shipping is about $4 more than through ebay, just added it to the shipping cost.   Good luck everybody through this new way of doing business.

All were $0 tariif items I assume from your other posts?  Glad to see it is working and sharing.    Always adapting in business.

Well, my listings are all of tariffable (is that even a word?) items, so I will never have the pleasure of experiencing  this "new way of doing business".

At least not until eBay sets up their eIS program here, and the tariffs are all paid by the seller, as it should be, and not prepaid by yours truly.

I'm absolutely not comfortable in giving private information to a couple of tech bros at Zonos. And a $4 increase on smaller items isn't going to increase sales in the long run. Already working on my exit at the end of the year.

Although 99% of my items are made either in Canada or USA, I will not support the manipulative coercive extortionist manner in which all this tariff business is conducted, so I will not be shipping to the USA until this changes (or until h*ll freezes over.").  I will in due time, resume listing (for shipping within Canada only), but I am  currently busy putting my efforts elsewhere to acquire more potential Canadian buyers.

when you sell mixed used items and over 50% of the items are made in China items, as normal stuff lying around us at home are made in China, then the $4 goes to almost $50 extra costs on a $100 item and to get that $50 from a buyer you have to ask for a lot more to get that $50 after paying fees etc.

All this could work for some sellers selling some items which have no tariffs, but for the majority of sellers it can't work

Congrats on getting 4 packages to the US. I've had about the same (and it's a bit of a challenge getting buyers to trust me that there will be no tariffs since I ship with Stallion and take care of getting it into the US... however the tariff is part of their shipping cost (so I'm not really paying it, I'm just charging more in shipping so the buyer pays it). I've had a few complaints about the shipping costs, but there's not much I can do about it. Even without tariffs there's still a brokerage fee to be paid to Stallion.

I keep thinking of the saying  "play stupid games win stupid prizes". Congratulating yourself because your items got through and it's an extra $4 each time is the epitome of a "stupid prize".

Amen to that!   I am not playing Trump's stupid revenge tariff game and I am not paying for the prize, so let those who wanna play that game, pay the price...I'll just "pocket the savings" for not having to pay all those extra costs and fees...

Did Zonos charged you 1.99 or 3.99 fee as stated on CP and Zonos sites ?

I have a few questions, are you able to print the labels online, and just drop them off normally at the Post Office? Is the large bar above the listing warning about tariffs gone? Does the customer know  that you have pre-paid the tariffs? Is the amount of tariff calculated based on your listed price? or does it include shipping? Do you need a registered business to get setup with Canada Post and ZonosThanks

Yes, I can print my labels and just drop them off.  I would like to print them from my zebra machine but until I figure it out it will be on 8 by 11 paper.  On my items there are no tariffs, however, the shipping has gone up $4 so there might as well be a tariff.  I just raised my shipping cost $4 and I put on my listings that any tariffs have been included in the shipping cost as the shipping cost has gone up.  I have a registered business with Canada Post.

Now if I was selling items that involve tariffs, I would not be selling to the US.  Not worth it to me to make a couple of bucks on each item for all the hassle.

Itried to sign up but since I don't have a reliable cell phone to receive text confirmation, I had to give up and use UPS for my first bulky US sale this month.

Umm. no.

US residents pay US taxes, duties, and tariffs.

We foreigners don't.

Canadians pay Canadian taxes, duties, and tariffs, and the money goes to Canadian goverment coffers to pay for education, infrastructure, defence, medical care , etc.
Merchants don't pay sales taxes, customers do.

Even "we pay the sale tax " sales, a popular promotion, are really just a small price reduction. The merchant has found they do better with that 13% to 15% reduction than when they offer 25% or more off.

All discounts and sales are head games.

Just a heads up for anybody who uses "discount stamps" to pay for parcels.

The way the computer system is set up for a Canada Post outlet requires them to choose stamps as the payment method prior to scanning your Zonos barcode. It's very easy for a cashier to forget to choose this because 99.9999 percent of people don't use stamps for parcels.

If they forget to punch in stamps before scanning Zonos and have to go back, you need to make another Zonos barcode.

This won't be a problem for a seller sending $0 duty items. You can pull your phone out and create a new declaration in 30 seconds. But I assume this might be a problem if you paid duties on the Zonos.

I try not to be obnoxious about it, but you have to remind them before they scan the zonos to make sure they selected the correct payment method.

This is a very good point.

This was all implemented very quickly and I'm sure things like this weren't even thought of by any of the developers. Hopefully this is fixed in a future RPOS (Canada Post retail computer software) update.

I just signed up for Zonos. I completed the required information for my package and there were $0.00 owing for customs and duites because the price was under $20 USD and the category and particulars is movies produced inside North America.

I received my receipt and declaration ID, but what do I do now?

Do I go to the Post Office?

I don't usually buy postage from the Post Office, so I am confused as to what other Ebayers do in terms of using your regular couriers with Zonos or do you pay Canada Post counter prices?
