October is about done and not a peep about EIS. On .com....20 plus year ebay account, top rated with over 45k feedback & no defects. Although i never used it, i have been enrolled in US & UK EIS for a while now. Same account on .CA...I'm above standard with low sales volume because i never sold on .ca. Could that be the problem and do they not take into account that many of us sold on .com?

For several years I alternated my listings between .COM and .CA, but I immediately opted out of eIS when given the opportunity weeks ago>have no intention of jumping through the hoops to satisfy these manipulated, extortionist Tariffs applied by that felonious leader of the USA administration.

Oh i plan to offer my own
DDP options but i want in the program to get rid of that #*% blue banner.

I am moving a lot of my inventory over to my other selling site(where I also no longer ship to the USA), but at least there I get views and potential buyers...

First thing to understand it that EIS Canada is on a slow roll out. Some sellers were induced a couple of weeks ago. Be aware there has been issues with the start up so anyone that actually wants to use EIS from Canada should be happy if they need to wait until the current issues are resolved.
About you .com issues, do you use Canada as your ship from location in your listings?

10-27-2025 05:41 PM
yes everything set to canada and all COO's in place. Since chitchats now offers DDP without maker details i'm back to offering US shipping but that banner on top of the higher prices can't be helping. I've added my own counter measures but would be nice to see it gone which is what EIS can provide.
Like you said maybe just slow roll out. In the meantime guess i'll start chanting ... patience is a virtue... patience is a virtue lol.

If you can utilize ChitChats there is no reason why you would want to have anything to do with EIS. EIS will always (99%) be more expensive and slower for your buyers.

I was just about to ask the same question, still no eis invite or option here as well.
It would be nice if ebay would just integrate zonos and canada post for canadian ebay sellers and remove the import fee message that us buyers are seeing. If we offer canada post calculated rates there should be no import fee messages, we pay. This is killing small businesses, we have enough to deal with.

This is why i want in to get into EIS program... it will get rid of the tarrif warning banner

Almost same here. Top rated on .ca, lot of sales... 4.5k items in store. Adding daily.
Received an email that I "might" be eligible, last month. Still not setup for it yet.
I wrote an email to eis. They told me: "Like most major product launches, sellers are being ramped into this program to ensure a smooth experience. The first ramps began this month, and the criteria for inclusion in earlier ramps will be based on a variety of factors. There will be further ramp announcements over the next several weeks, so keep an eye on your email to see if you’re included. "

Agreed... unfortunately at a much greater cost to us buyers, but at this point either would be nice

It's seemingly completely random who's getting enrolled. As others have said it's a slow roll-out. I think they've said that they plan to have everyone enrolled by early 2026.
I'm also not in the program despite having a 20 year old account that has never posted listings anywhere other than dotCA, and all my listings have CoO and measurements (and always have since day one).

I'm still awaiting enrollment. I ensured my listing all show country/region of manufacture as well....

hmmm, kind of surprised that many are hungry for EIS.
It's been available on .com for years and is super expensive. Unless it's a 1of 1 item, I would never consider buying anything from anyone in the US who uses EIS.
Not enrolled, and unless it's drastically different, never will be enrolled. If you think sales are slow now, wait until you are in EIS and the buyers have to pay a large increase in shipping costs. good luck

Right now, there are many incentives to use eIS for us.
1. We are not able to get rid of the eBay banner about tariff to US customers. Since we sell mostly items without duties/tariffs (books, dvd, cd, magazines, etc), that banner is misleading and scares away customers.
2. Low value / small items sent lettermail to the hub then sent by eIS will be almost the same price than sending tracked directly to customers around the world. If we are using Chit Chat for lower prices with tracking, we must incorporate the shipping with Purolator to their warehouse (about 7$). We are obligated to consolidate (therefore using a box or a package not compatible with lettermail). No Drop off near us. We need volume to make it sustainable.
3. Protection from INR.
All those 3 points will be fixed with eIS and is very welcomed and needed to be able to send internationnaly in many cases.

4. Protection against Trump suddenly slapping a BIG tariff on goods while you have items in transit that haven't cleared yet.
5. For items that don't qualify for CUSMA or are otherwise tariff free, protection against the need to continually modify your listing or shipping prices when Trump changes the rates multiple times a week.
6. No need to worry about things like the German packaging laws (amongst others).

No offers to me either.
I tried signing up for Zonos yesterday, since I have three bulky lots to ship, but after an hour, I have only a number I cut and pasted to a printed page.
So I'll take those to the PO later with the number and hope I get Charles, who likes me.
If I can't I guess I will cancel the sales as Problem with Address, since they can't be sent to the USA.

That large increase in shipping costs exists for every carrier to the USA now. Assuming we're including the import fees as part of the equation. There are some exceptions like CUSMA certified goods via Stallion, but that is not going to be accessible to all sellers. Most couriers like UPS and Fedex are off the table due to inconsistency and uncertainty around brokerage charges (and how they can be charged back to the sender if the package is refused).
For a small contingent of sellers who are located in Ontario, because the domestic shipping rate is low, depending on what kind of discounts eBay's partner has with international carriers, eIS might even be cheaper or at least on par with Tracked Packet via Snapship. It won't be cheaper than Stallion or Chit Chats, but those come with added complications.
Most people want it for the international (non-US) portion. There is a contingent of sellers who don't ship internationally because of the complications and regulations with each country. A handful of international orders every week would make a big difference for a lot of sellers right now who have seen their volume drop substantially. We're not talking about sellers expecting super high volumes of orders from eIS. More of a supplementary cash flow that could be very helpful.
Nobody expects to get the US market back because there is no reasonable way to deliver value for most goods due to the added costs of shipping there.

It's been available on .com for years and is super expensive.
It's "super expensive" because the import fees are included with shipping.
CBSA and Canada Post were ignoring low value imports (up to about $100) but GSP/eIS are required to collect import fees on everything over $20Cdn/$14USD.
But that is from a buyer perspective.
From a seller perspective the important points are tracking and Seller Protection.
GSP/eIS were promoted as Seller Protection against evil foreign customers to US and UK sellers.
The purpose for Canada is somewhat different.
But if import fees are being charged to the customer upfront and not to the seller, I'm all for it.

"But if import fees are being charged to the customer upfront and not to the seller, I'm all for it. "
Yes indeed! THAT would be more palatable...
and IF the eIS didn't require all the various verification processes for items to cross the USA border, that would be even better!
BUT...until those tariffs and tariff processes are eliminated, I will NOT ship to the USA ....
i.e. If we are not back to the way it was 6 months ago, when shipping to the USA was an easy peasy process...
well, one can hope....there is always hope, right???... or just keep on a-dreamin!
