Stallion - Hit Me w/ Duty Fees After Shipments (CUSMA Related)

Hey all,

Has anyone else had Stallion Express hit them with a 25% duty fee on shipments after the shipments took place? My SKUs for Mexican orders were the issues here. They claim that the CUSMA wasn't completed but I was assured by the local branch manager that the SKU set up would have been fine (and grandfathered in after the Aug. 29, 2025 changes). So far it adds up to $154CAD out of my pocket and I'm **bleep** by it. So Mexican origin items I'm shipping directly through Canada Post again w/ Zonos.

I'm with Stallion too, unfortunately if they pay tariff, they pass that on to the customer. You can try and complain. I did once because they told me four banknotes weighed 2 lbs and hit me with additional shipping charges. There wasn't anything I could do.

For your SKUs, does it say in the portal that they are CUSMA? Or does it say "submit CUSMA"?

When the change first took place there was no CUSMA for a week or so until they implemented it and everyone started submitting their goods for CUSMA. If you didn't do this and fill out the required form, the agent was incorrect and duties would apply on Mexican items.

I'm sorry this happened to you. Please go to your products page to look at the SKUs and see what it says. If it says it's CUSMA certified, then it's Stallion's error.

C.
