Greetings Ebay Canada Community Members, Sellers and Buyer!

It is October and it was stated somewhere that the Ebay International Shipping would be launching sometime in October 2025.

I just wanted to know if EiS is online yet?

If it is, what is the procedure aside from shipping your sold item to a designated Hub somewhere is Mississuaga?

I'm also hopeful, once online, that Chit Chats can ship the item to the Hub, but as of yet, I am currently Time Away, awaiting the EiS to be active and with Canada Post in a labor dispute is causing headaches all around.

Actually no, the tracking doesn't show delivery. It doesn't even count as a delivery attempt. It matters to me because if no one picks up the parcel, it will be most likely be returned to me and I will have paid for shipping plus for the return shipping cost for nothing (and lost a sale). I doubt that I'm covered as long as the package is not in the hands of Ebay.

I wouldn't be surprised if the gap in communication between eBay or Sincros and Canada Post was exacerbated by the resumption of the full-scale strike.

It will be interesting to see how they cope once they start receiving 100's of parcels every day or more. Sounds like between eBay & Sincros they just didn't have their ducks in row from the get go.

Well written. As a past seller on eBay.com who moved over to eBay.ca with hope of getting back the USA customers; forget it because of the EIS costs that I see on a few listings; all have 0 views. rroader41

Keep in mind, @rroader41, that you don't have to offer eIS exclusively. If you're willing to use a direct shipping method for your non-Canadian sales, you can, and your buyers can choose between that and eIS when they make their purchase.

From what I've seen so far, eIS shipping charges are slightly less expensive than Canada Post's non-commercial rates. It's when the domestic shipping charge is added to the eIS charges that things start looking really stupid.

I wouldn't worry. That tracking looks like what you see when an item is sent to a PO Box. The notice card is sitting in their PO Box, not in the box at the building.

I suspect based on that tracking that they have a PO Box that their packages are forwarded to, or some sort of arrangement to have everything forwarded to a post office for pickup.

When I get a return or if I order something to my PO Box, it looks similar to that on the tracking.

Certainly, keep people posted about what happens, but I wouldn't worry too much.

They did it to me without telling me. I just sold something and had no idea why I was shipping to Mississauga instead of Holland so I called and asked why they enrolled me when I opted out. She really didn't have an answer.

Compared to the US roll out I bet they are a bit surprised at the number of people who handle their own US and/or international shipping.

That could be because it is not really that difficult once you have done a couple, cheaper to ship and gets there is a timely manner without additional handling. Major pluses!!! Personally I would much rather have knowledgeable folks processing customs fees....when/where applicable.

For USA and eis it will work well for some and not as well for others.

We also sell more across borders and even before the de minimus was gone everyone was puttins HS and COOs on shipments.

The postal code is fine. Look it up on the Canada Post website's "Find a Postal Code" tool.

The warehouse is divided up into two sections. Section #2 probably just picked up that postal code when it was leased out in October. Some shippers may not have received the memo.

I shipped three pkgs to the EISYYZ via chitchats courier (since ebay said directly on the 'purchase shipping label' page, to look for alternatives to CanPost due to the ongoing strike/rotations.)

the courier is having trouble delivering... anyone know business hours/contact etc??

I gather there's 2 doors both with different postal codes or something like that. They're probably trying to deliver to the wrong door. We think the postal code eBay is giving us may be wrong, but it's also possible that it's brand new and the other couriers haven't got it updated in their systems yet.

The postal code is most likely a virtual one (not a physical one) that only Canada Post recognizes (considering it was created by them), it's used for the delivery route for this high-traffic facility. Also, the facility has just been rented; maybe the address hasn't been updated in other carriers' databases. This is also why UPS will sometimes bill you the extra $7 for "address correction".
